What's wrong with a leaking shower head following new boiler and how do I fix it?

The valves are leaking. It's not the shower head itself. Sometimes shower faucets require special tools to service the valves. If you have thought about new shower valves, now would be a good time to replace. Repair may be half the cost of installation of new. In other words, plumber's time to repair or replace is about the same. Get several quotes. TV show This Old House had one on a replacement. It may be available online. Did you use any teflon tape on the shower arms threads to seal it up. Also check and make sure fitting on shower head isn't cracked once tighten up onto shower arm it could have a crack in it and leaks. Plastic shower heads tend to crack when they are tighten to much.

hiya:) wish i had something better for you but i think you should just buy another shower head. even if we could find the parts, which i doubt, after shipping & handling (because you will not find the parts at the store) they would cost as much as a new shower head. not to mention your time. hope this helps and good luck:)

Leaking shower head

Very few shower heads are made to be rebuilt and any O-ring will always be proprietory (i.e. specific to that brand and part). Rohl has an excellent customer service department. The can tell you if the parts are available and will also tell you to get them. 1-800-777-9762.

Leaking shower head

Not unless you had a backward plumber , If the diverter at the faucet is open for tub, then no water will go up the shower, The shower may hold enough water up there to make it look like a drip, Even if the valve was leaking all the time, it would not go up, it would come out the faucet. It only works with pressure. Unless the valve was plumbed wrong,,, Hope this helps.

Walk in shower leak into room below

I would unscrew shower head pipe and either pipe dope it or tefilon the threads and then reinstall it. I would also take the handle(s) rosettes off and look for a leak from there with a flashlight, while shower is on. I believe the most comon leak for walk in showers are the door seals. Are you sure it is not coming out from under the door? Another test that yuo may want to preform is to Stopper the drain, fill the shower pan with water and watch for bubbles, or look for leaks from below.

Leak where Grohe shower head attached to the threaded pipe

Hello, Many shower heads have similar problems. (Very frustrating as you now know) The problem is the threads at the end of the (cheap plastic) shower neck are not flat. They are tapered (has an edge) - so it does not seat flush with the base of the shower head. Actually cuts around the rubber washer causing a leak.

What to do about it?

File the end of the neck some to create a flat surface. However, go slow. Be sure you can still screw on the shower head. Add a flat rubber washer in the shower head and plumbers tape on neck threads too.

Or Purchase a new shower neck that has a better design. The neck should unscrew from the front. Check and make sure you have an access behind the shower just in case you need to access the plumbing.

I replace the shower neck myself if there is an access.

Shower head leaks water when water is turned on

take out the cartridge from the fixture and make sure it has all of the "O" rings and stoppers.
look at the instruction again, make sue you are installing it the right side up. if all that, the shower still leak, then you need to talk to the place you brought the fixture, it may have a defective cartridge.
