Question about Sony VAIO FRV26 Notebook
Ok it seems that how to take the cover off this monster is a well gaurded secret or something, but I am really frustrated.
I have taken out all the screws and the front will seperate a bit but it is as if somewhere in the middle or back there are more screws "unseen to me" that are holding it together.
Can someone please tell me how to get the cover off. My fan is making a noise as if hitting something and I need to check it out. It's not the normal noise that this beast usually makes, and has nothing to do with it's overheat issues I solved that with an external cooling mat.
I would be so thankful for any help!

to open an FRV26:
the cover at the top of the keyboard must be removed, take a small screwdriver and run it along the lower edge of the cover behind the top row of keys. there will be 4 small slots across the edge. each of these slots has a small latch which must be pushed in to lift the cover.
once the top cover is removed, there will be a small phillips screw visible at the top of the keyboard, remove it and lift the keyboard out of the way.
under the keyboard is an aluminum shield. there are about 10 small phillips screws holding it down, most around the edges, 2 are down in small tubes. once all screws are removed, lift the cover. the fans will be visible.
WARNING: do not loosen the 4 screws around the fan cover housing. if you loosen these and lift the fans out, the main chip will come with them and must be removed from the heatsink to reinstall.
