Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Suddenly stopped charging

When I put my iPad on the dock last night I expected it to be fully charged this morning. But this was not to be. I put my iPhone on the dock this morning and went back after a while to find it hadn't charged at all. I thought that maybe there was a problem with the backup battery so I replaced that. When I tried to charge the iPhone again it had a message that it could be unsupported with the device. I turned the iPhone off and restarted to reset it. There wasn't a support message but it still didn't charge.

SOURCE: My fully charged 3g Iphone in the Bose Sounddock it keeps poppin

Try putting your iPhone into "Airplaine" mode. It's possible that the radio frequencies from your phone are interfearing with the speakers in your sound dock.

SOURCE: I have a Fatman iTube

  • Tubes by nature can put out a white noise. They are the first suspect out of the shoot. I think putting something with such clarity like an ipod with tube amps was a bad design. Those are the same style vacuum tubes as the old TV'S. And they are very very dangerous to fool with. Anything could be interfering with them tubes. Have you tried putting your setup in a different room? A fan. a phone, a T.V., a modem, anything can interfere with them tubes. They are a different sort than the traditional solid state. There are some resistors in the preamp that might need replaced. Sometimes the tubes cam be faulty the tubes used are 4 - 5881 (EL34), 2 - 6N8P (6SN7), 2 - 12AX7, 1 - 6E2.
  • Any HAM worth their salt could repair this for you. You might want to find a shop in the area that has a HAM operator or someone that works with radios and tubes to fix that for your.
  • In my honest opinion someone that does not understand the energy them tubes can store trying to replace them is a recipe for disaster and possibly death.

Regards, Tony

Ipod batteries have a lifespan so they can only be recharged a certain ammount of times before they need replacing

I have connected my nanomax ipod to the computer and it is not charging.how should i charge it?

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. So you have connected your Nanomax iPod to the computer and it's not charging like it's supposed to, and you want to know how you should charge it properly? There are two ways you can charge the battery - charging via your Dock Connector to USB Cable, or the Apple USB Power Adapter (which is sold separately). Here are the step by step instructions to charging your and Nanomax.

Using the Dock Connector to USB Cable
  1. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, plug the dock connector end to your iPod and plug the USB end to your computer. Make sure the computer you are using has a USB 2.0 port (check your computer's technical specifications to see if it's USB 2.0 certified). Most USB ports on the keyboards of laptops do not provide enough power to perform charging activities. If you have a Docking Station, plug the docking connector into the station and placed the iPod in the station as well.
  2. Make sure your computer is fully awake and not asleep (meaning in sleep mode).
  3. A fully charged battery takes 3 hours to complete. An 80% charged battery takes an hour and 30 minutes. The battery is charging when it shows the charging icon (a battery not fully shaded in green, with a lightning bolt). The battery is done charging when the "fully charged" icon shows (a green-shaded battery with a 2-prong plug showing).
  4. When you are done, disconnect the cable from your computer.
Using the Apple USB Power Adapter
  1. Connect the Alternating Current (AC) Plug Adapter with the power adapter (if connected already, skip this step).
  2. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, connect the dock connector end to your iPod and the USB end to the power adapter.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a polarized wall outlet or surge protector outlet.
I think you connected everything correctly, but the USB port on your computer did not have enough power to charge your battery. If that's the case, you will have to find a computer that has a USB 2.0 port on it (like a desktop PC or MAC, or a car adapter charging device) and connect to it, or use the USB Power Adapter (sold seperately). I think this pretty much answers your question. I hope this benefits you the best way possible. Once again, thank you for choosing Fixya as your one-stop solution spot for your problems. Have a good day, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this, and visit us again the next you need assistance troubleshooting.
