Yes this is a fairly common rubber grommet usually available at Maplin. They are most used for protecting cables or other things from abrasion from flexing at the entry points into boxes casings or conduits etc.

Search 'pvc grommet' on google

SOURCE: Anyone know where I can buy part number

Some hardware stores, electrical supply stores, radio shack, are a few places I would think of trying. Take old one with you to make sure same amperage/voltage rating.

Dimplex dakota heater is working but flame effect is not its led I think not bulbs.

Says you can turn it on and off? Did you knock the switch?

Can I operate the flame effect on the fire without the heat?
All our Optiflame and Opti-myst fires can be operated on a flame-effect only setting, as can the flickering flame effect on our freestanding bar fires.

Is the flame effect expensive to run?
No, to run the flame effect involves powering light bulbs and a small electric motor and in most cases costs no more than a couple of pence an hour. Some of our fires have LED lamps fitted which are even more energy efficient.

Some have bulbs, some have LED.
Example calculations:
Using UK standard average price of electricity of 14p/kWh (source: Energy Saving Trust Feb 2015)
Optiflame LED flame effect only (eg Danesbury) = 0.1p every hour
Optiflame conventional bulb, effect only (eg Cheriton) = 2p every hour
Opti-myst, flame effect only (eg Oakhurst) = 3p every hour
Opti-V single screen = 0.5p every hour
2kW fan heater, on constantly (no thermostat) = 28p every hour

Optiflame lightbulbs for sale. Remove the coals and check for bulbs.

Dimplex cheriton fire model CHT20LE wont turn on

Check the fuse isn't blown in the plug. If it is not, then you would unfortunately need to open up the fire and check the internal wiring and connections, check the switches with a multimeter to make sure they are working. There really isn't much inside these units to go wrong! So any fault should be rather easy to find

Changing bulb in dimplex cht20 fire

Yes this is very easy on the cheriton range of fires.... remove the coal, then remove two screws from the front of the coal holder... the whole brass coal holder will pull away from the machine. The bulbs (two of them) are located directly behind this, just behind the rotisserie flame effect. The flame effect can be pulled out of its holder to access the bulbs.

Replace bulb in hyundai curved glass fire

Two people required for this
Remove fire from wall
Lay fire on its back
Gently slide glass panel towards top of fire and remove. Store glass safely
At the bottom of the fire there is a lamp cover fixed by 8 Philips head screws.
Remove screws and lift off the lamp cover
Slide the flexible rotisserie to one side ensuring you don't lose the rubber grommet
Remove bulb by pulling it out of the holder (force may be required)
Replace with 40 watt G9 halogen bulb. Take care not to touch the bulb with your bare hands
Push the bulb fully home
Refit the rotisserie making sure the rubber grommet is carefully pushed into the slotted hole in the axial bracket
Refit the lamp cover
Lift the fire back onto the wall and replace glass front by lifting onto the lugs either side of the fire.

Is there a jump start connection under the hood?

Yes. On the passenger side of the engine bay there is a black rubber grommet in front of the flat panel attached to the fire wall (directly behind the shock tower) that can easily be accessed. Pull the rubber grommet back and that will be your "positive" terminal. Use the shock tower bolt area for the "ground" connection.

Good luck.

Noisy optiflame motor on dimplex cheriton fire

If you are referring to the motor of the flame effect, these are called synchronous motors (commonly used in microwave turntables. Any syncronous motor should do as a replacement, but check whether you need a 12v model or a 240v model. This information should be found on the label on the back of the old motor.

I have an RSVP stainless steel knock box and need to replace the rubber sleeve and grommets on the bar. Where can I buy these. The shop where I purchased the box does not stock them. Thanks Al

Hi Al:

Ok, here's what the pros do.
Sleeve-- get a 1-2 foot length of reinforced rubber tubing/hose. Measure the diameter of the inner bar, get the right Inside Diameter on the tubing, cut the right length and slip over the bar-- if the fit is tight, you may need a drop of dish soap to slide it. Lasts for years, much better than the old sleeve.

Grommets. Look at an auto supply store for auto wiring grommets. http://www.autowiringsolutions.com/search.php is a good place to start. Buy a dozen of 'em, and replace them when they split :-)
