You've asked two questions here. 12 over 3 is 4.

If three hot dogs out of 12 have ketchup than 1/4 of the hot dogs have ketchup.

### Are there human DNA in hot dogs

Yes, looks like it, but DNA screening is so sensitive, it could be one hair minced up, or a few flakes of skin.

### Can you help me on this question?

This answer is correct. 4/12 divided by 2/2= 1/3
The reciprocal of 2/2 is 2/2
Then you multiply straight across and reduce to get 1/3

### I would really like to try making my own ketchup. I just think we spend so much money buying ketchup every few weeks and it might be worth trying to make it ourselves. Any recipes?

I think it's a great idea to make your own ketchup. We do it sometimes and the adults definitely prefer the taste of it to the shop bought stuff. The kids are taking a bit longer to enjoy the flavor but I wont' give up.

Here's a link to a recipe on the Farmers' Almanac site. They have recipes for several condiments including ketchup;

### Is ketchup actually good for you? This is an argument that we have been having in our family for years and no one can agree.

This question depends who you ask because there are aspects of ketchup that are both positive and negative:

The pros:

Ketchup is a low calorie sauce compared to some other condiments. It contains tomatoes which are cooked. They are thought to contain an anti oxidant which could help lower the risk of heart disease.

The cons:

Ketchup contains both salt and sugar as some of its main ingredients and if you use quite a lot of ketchup with your food it can be unhealthy.

In addition, many companies now add corn syrup and flavorings to the recipe.

In summary - ketchup is delicious and certainly not bad for you like some foods but eat it in moderation.

### Write each quadratic equation in standard form. . identify the values of a,b,and c. . ...

• Solve (x + 2)(x + 3) = 12.
It is very common for students to see this type of problem, and say:
"Cool! It's already factored! So I'll set the factors equal to 12 and
solve to get x = 10 and x = 9. That was easy!"

Yeah, it was easy; it was also (warning!) wrong. Besides the fact that (10 + 2)(9 + 3) does not equal 12, you should never forget that you must have "(quadratic) equals (zero)" before you can solve.
So, tempting though it may be, I cannot set each of the factors above equal to the other side of the equation and "solve". Instead, I first have to multiply out and simplify the left-hand side, then subtract the 12 over to the left-hand side, and re-factor. Only then can I solve.
(x + 2)(x + 3) = 12
x2 + 5x + 6 = 12
x2 + 5x - 6 = 0
(x + 6)(x - 1) = 0
x + 6 = 0 or x - 1 = 0
x = -6 or x = 1
Then the solution to (x + 2)(x + 3) = 12 is x = -6, 1

### We are opening a fast food shop in Florida and need to know how many cones can you get out of one gallon of hard ice cream and one mix of soft serve ice cream. Do hot dogs sell better than hamburgers and...

Hi. A typical soda fountain-style ice cream scoop--a #8 food portioning scoop--holds 1/2 cup of ice cream. One gallon is equal to 16 cups, so there are 32 scoops of ice cream in a one-gallon container. Each scoop should weigh 4 ounces. A strong handed scooper can put an ice cream shop into bankruptcy so ALWAYS weigh each and every scoop.

With soft serve, one gallon of mix makes 36 - 4 ounce cones. Once again weighting the cones is key.

The hot dog vs hamburg ? depends totally on the sizes, the toppings and the type of roll used. Experiment there but start out with hot dogs to keep it simple. Regarding chips and fries, once again chips are simple with little waste, cold fries often go in the trash. Good luck. J.
