SOURCE: Suzuki X-90 horn not working after after repair to

First check the horn fuse and relay. If thats good, go out under the hood with a wire and ground the horn directly to see if it blows. If it blows then you may want to check your connection behind the steering wheel cover. Its a single wire which grounds the horn to complete the circuit when pressed on. If it doesn't blow use a 12 volt test light to check for power at the horn. If there is power at the horn then the horn its self may be bad.

SOURCE: steering wheel radio wires, i need a wire color

The wires that control the radio from the steering go to the Body Control Module (BCM), not directly to the radio. The BCM sends data over the serial bus to the radio.

How to remove an SIR coil on 97 Deville/Technical drawing of steering column?

The clock spring assembly was most likely damaged during removal/assembly of the repairs. This assembly controls the airbag/horn/steering wheel functions. It is not that hard to change if you have a steering wheel puller to get the steering wheel off. Here is an exploded diagram. Hope it helps. The very top of the diagram is the clock spring assembly and it will be the first thing you see when the steering wheel is removed

How to replace a gas pedal for a 2000 jetta vr6. its a drive by wire system. i have a new one and would like to replace it myself...please advise..thank you

There are 3 nuts that are 13mm that secure the pedal assembly to mounting studs, you'll have to remove the plastic trim below the steering wheel to gain access. Once those are removed, there is a plug connector with two tabs that must be squeezed towards the center to release the wire harness connector. Worth noting is that these pedal assemblies rarely fail, and if your gas pedal isn't doing anything, it could be frayed or shorted wires to your O2 sensor as that can cause an EPC light and non-functioning gas pedal, due the O2 sensor sharing logic with the gas pedal. If that is the case, then the remedy is to replace the ECU and repair the O2 wire harness prior to programming the ECU.

Fault code 1698 and 0551

0551 -

There is a problem with the power steering pressure switch. The purpose of the switch is to sense the power steering hydraulic pressure in the steering gear assembly and then raise the engine idle rpm as more pressure is needed when you turn the wheels while the vehicle is idling. Your engine idle rpm will be dragged down when you turn the wheels while idling if it is not working properly. There is two wires in the harness to the switch connector, a black ground wire and a blue/green striped signal wire which goes to the engine control module. You should check that connector because it can become either oil soaked or corroded, both conditions of which can cause a faulty connection. Cleaning the connector will most often remedy the problem but the switch itself may be faulty if there is no problem with the connector. The switch is on the back side of the steering gear and can be easily located by looking for the wiring harness which is routed to the steering gear assembly. It is the only electrical device on the steering gear assembly.
p1698- means the pcm is not recieving a bus message from the tcm. The vehicle bus is one wire that runs to each module as there means of communication. This could be a broken wire, bad connection, or possibly a bad module. Unless your pretty sure about what your doing and have some good wiring diagrams you should probably take it to your dealer.

Will not steer...all other buttons work

Probably a bad potentiometer on the wheel. This is the device which defines the rotational position of the wheel shaft. It may also be a broken wire to that device.

Brake Lights not working

The brake pedal switch on most cars or trucks is near the top of the brake pedal assembly where it pivots under the dash. As you move the pedal it releases the switch.

Passanger side brake light issue

Yes! It is a faulty turn signal assembly. You can try actuating the hazards several times, to try cleaning the contacts but if there is no change then replace it. In case you want to know, the wires from the brake switch, go up into the turn-signal assembly then out to the tail-lights. To fix it, disconnect the battery, you will need some tools. A steering wheel puller, a steering shaft compression tool, 1/2" drive ratchet, metric sockets, cir-clip pliers, a couple of small picks, #2 philips head screwdriver, and some torque-head screwdrivers. carefully pull off the horn cover( may have a couple of scews holding it from the other side), unplug the horn wire (push and twist), remove the cir-clip, remove the nut, mark the area where the steering wheel and shaft meet (use white-out), press off the steering wheel, Compess the shaft, remove the retaining clip(with the picks), remove horn spinner base, remove turn-signal assembly. I need to step back alittle bit, the plug, to the turn-signal, is half-way down the steering column, to unplug it you need to remove the lower dash panel, the bolts holding the column up inplace. The plug is in clear sight but the wiring harness is inside a plastic sheath, you'll see what I'm talking about.
