Unit not cooliing, all the fans are working and unit is clean

The unit was not coooling so I unplugged it. When I plugged it back in, the fans came on and I hear a "click, click", every 15 seconds and it does not stop until I unplug the unit.

When defrosting, what causes loud banging noises?

Hello David;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The noise is coming from one of two places.

1.) Freezer Fan - The fan may be hitting ice. After defrosting the noise will disappear.
2.) Compressor Flapper Valves - Remove the cover to expose the compressor. Plug the unit back in. If the compressor starts jumping unplug the unit. Check the rubber bushings where the compressor is bolted down. Are the bolts loose? Is the rubber torn off? If the compressor is secure, then you have a bad compressor.

RF267aewp french door refrigerator is acting crazy. Sometimes compressor fan runs, sometimes it doesn't same with freezer fans. Front control panel will not respond so I cannot get into diagno

Had same problem on my fridge a long time ago. Here is what was wrong on mine. Debris had clogged up around the fan blades to the point where the very small motor that runs the fan was not powerful enough to make the fan turn. When this happens the compressor has to work harder and harder until it finally shut down on safety cutout. I had to open the back of the fridge and clean up the fan blades, [ took the opportunity to put a small amount of oil on the fan shaft too, my Norge fridge is now over 50 years old.]

Neff fridge/freezer has stopped cooling

pull the unit from the wall, remove the bottom back panel , see if the small fan is working ,if the fan is , there's probally alot of dust back there, unplug the fridg. and vacuum the area real good, use a flash light to make sure you get it all, if the fan is not working and the compressor is running the fan is the problem ,the fan keeps the compressor and coils cool so the freon can cool down so the unit works like it should,if the freon is hot ,the air the fridg.will be blowing will be hot. this should fix your problem, and YES its worth fixing.alittle p.m.saves alot of $$$$$$$$$

Upright Freezer won't Cool

Hi - Typically freezers are not recommended to be located outside because if the garage temperature is above 100 degrees, it will have difficulties performing optimally due to un-circulating air. Some manufacturers have garage kit design to help with this issue. It is design to solely be used during the winter to provide heat to the coils which trigger the compressor to come on. During the summer months, generally it is not needed.

When was the last time you cleaned the condensers? You may do so by removing the toe grille and use extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush to remove dust buildup from condenser coils usually located on the left side underneath. If you hear the compressor running and if it is providing warm air then that means it is operating correctly and the sealed system is removing heat from the cabinet. Fan motor/evaporator may be the primary issue. However, if you do not hear the compressor and the unit is blowing room temperature then the unit may possibly have a sealed system leak, faulty compressor or overload relay. Contact a professional to move forward accurately from this point.

Frigidaire Freezer acting goofy

Make sure everything is clean of debris and I would personally see if you could cool the area around the unit. Maybe use a fan or turn the air down in that room. Humidity and hot temps kill a unit's sealed system.

I have a kenmore upright frost free freezer mod #253.26432100. A couple of months ago everything defrosted and the unit was not running at all. I unplugged it cleaned it and plugged it back in, it turned...

You have a problem with the ADC.

Frigidaire has also jumped into the market with an adaptive defrost board. The fresh food section light switch and light bulb must work. To initiate a defrost cycle, open the door and push the light switch in and out 5 times within 6 seconds. The compressor and fans should shut off and the defrost heater should come on. Open the door and push the light switch in and out 5 times within 6 seconds to remove the refrigerator from the defrost mode and back into a cooling mode.

This product comes equipped with an Adaptive Defrost Control (ADC). To activate manual defrost, press and hold the Freezer temperature UP (WARMER) key while pressing the Fresh Food temperature DOWN (COLDER) key 5 times within 6 seconds. A "d" in the freezer temperature window and "F" in the refrigerator temperature window will display when the heater is activated. To deactivate manual defrost, press and hold Freezer temperature UP (WARMER) key while pressing the Fresh Food temperature DOWN (COLDER) key 5 times within 6 seconds. "d" and "F" will be displayed until the defrost cycle is complete. (approx. 8 minutes)

My whrilpool upright freeze not cutting out motor keep running continuously how can i fix this problem.

Hi, slowly get to the thermostat/control and slowly back it off to see if the unit will shut off. Now, let it stay off for 5 to 10 minutes so the pressures in the system will equalize or it won't start. After it sets this time period, slowly turn it to the colder position until you here it come back on and put a mark at the control knob so you know where it started up. You may just be in need of some cleaning. Behind the unit, you should have a lower panel that can be removed to excess the compressor, condenser coil, and condenser fan motor. Unplug this unit, remove panel and take a look with a good strong light at the coil. You will have lint build up on the front as the air is drawn back through this coil by the fan to cool the refrigerant that removes heat from in the box. After cleaning, you should be able to shine a flash light through it and see very well if its clean or not. This will keep the head pressure down to a normal operating temperature. Put it back together and start it up by plugging it back in. Watch the units operation to see if the compressor will cycle on and off like it should. When the freezer is cold, make sure the evaporator fan inside is also running. Get back to me on this and keep me updated on it, and tell me how dirty this coil was if it was. I will be checking to see if you have contacted me on this. It may be the thermostat, but I need to know the condition of the other sections. It could also have a small enough freon leak to cause the compressor to run, and run. If it gets low enough, it will short cycle on and off, you will know when it happens. Contact me by my user name below.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

The fridge/freezer is making buzzing noises that go on for 10/15 seconds every 5 minutes or so. Both fridge and freezer have heated up to 49 and 26 degrees through the night. Help!

ur compressor is trying to start but the safety is turning it off may have a bad compressor but try this first might get it working again -(safety click sound) disconnects power when compressor gets to hot or is drawing to many amps--stuck--comp gets hot unplug unit and clean with a vacuum carefully under where comp and fan are this is the condenser area after cleaning or 1 hr plug in and check for start and that condenser fan is working may be reason for overheating-if still not working compressor needs service
