SOURCE: How do I get decimal answers

I had the same problem. To change the output to decimals, do the following:

Go to Math mode, then SHIFT, MODE (set-up), 2 (lineIO). This will cause answers to show in decimal format. I hope this helps.

I was able to find a manual at: http://www.generalmanual.com/Calculators/Casio-FX-300ES-Scientific-Financial-Calculator.htm

Press the S<>D key, (located right above "DEL"). This will shift the answer from fraction to decimal. This sounds like a pain but having both functions available can be a big plus.

Hello,

Generally, MathIO gives results in fractions or radicals.** But sometimes it does not.** I tried multiplying or dividing fractions or radicals by integer numbers, and once in while I got a decimal result and was unable to cast it into a fraction or a radical. I was not able to find the pattern.

In lineIO you only get decimal results.

What can one tell you that you cannot determine for yourself? If you appreciate the functionalities of the MathIO, it seems like an insignificant price to pay to press ONE button to switch between displays. It needs to be done ONLY once, for the last result one wants to record.

Your calculator, Your rules. But sometimes one cannot eat the cake and have it too.
