Question about Jandy 7953 AquaLink RS One Touch Control Panel - White

1 Answer

Jamdy RS Shuts off heater too soon

I have a pool and spa controlled by a Jandy RS One Touch Controller and the spa won't get hot enough. I set the temp to 103 on the one touch control pad and everything works like it is supposed to. When the heater reaches 99 degrees, it shuts off. The controller reads the water temp as 104, but it is not that warm. I replaced the temp sensor and hte problem hasn't improved. I used the temp calibrate function to try and adjust the temperature, but is is always reading 85. I adjust it down as low as it will go (81), but it won't stay at 81: it always reverts back to 85. PCB, ECB, ??? Help please

Heats up the rapidly decreases within in minutes.

Problem new or old? How long you have unit? Sounds like not enough flow to keep burner on. Tankless need at least .6 gpm to keep hot water flowing or else the burner fires then shuts fires then shuts and you get a sandwich effect...hot cold hot cold. If you have new diverter valve in shower -vs- old two handle type try turning hot water ALL the way ON and see if hot stays hot. If it does stay hot then slowly adjust to cool and see if you maintain a good MIX for proper temp. If it goes cold again try this......LOWER control pad setting to a comfortable 105 degrees (ladies) 100 degrees(men) and turn shower valve all the way to HOT. See if your temp remains consistant now and if it does then problem solved. Tankless mindset...set temp on control pad and stop trying to MIX at shower valve. Thats how these things work. Thats why I install a control pad in each bath and one in the kitchen for adjusting ash temp during dishwasher on time. ditto for wash machine. You should never need to turn on cold water if your unit is set to proper temp at controller. Hope this helps

The temperature indicator changes as soon as I begin to take a shower. How can you help me.

try unplugging the controller to see if it's a glitch in the contoller. If not you probably do not have enough gas running to it so it can't heat the water fast enough due to lack of gas

INSTANT HOT WATER ISN'T HOT ENOUGH.

Here are two links to get the manual for your unit. Since I don't have the model number for your unit, you can find this in one of the two links. If you have the manual, you will know if you are skipping a step or not. If you have done everything, then I would call Rinnai to find an authorized tech for your appliance. Hope this helps.
