Question about Indesit Washing Machines

Open Question

Indersit idv65 I have a Indersit IDV65 and the timer went wrong,if it was set to 60 mins it only worked for 6 mins and then the timer was at the finish point so it was working 10 times faster than it should.I bought a new timer and fitted it. Now the drum only turns for a few mins then it stops, the power is still on the timer as you can hear it running.I checked the voltage at the capacitor that goes to the motor and when the drum is turning the power is there, once the drum stop the power has gone from it.I have tried it with the heating element disconnected and the same thing happens.I have checked the 2 thermostats on the heater element and their both ok

SOURCE: hotpoint wd62 washer dryier (aquarius 1200)

i am a retired engineer of 20 years, and its about a year since i worked on combination washer/dryers but if the heater elements fine and power comes from timer there must be cut out somewhere around where it should warm up, look all round the machine one may be hidden or hard to spot there maybe about 3 one of them one of them could be a trigger device (you can press a button to reset it) that style is a very small cube about the size of a sugar lump with2 spades on it, others look like a small flat oval or round shape the size of a five pence piece with 2 spade wires on them, remove the plug from wall and remove these spades and check the contacts for continuity, you need not remove from machine to do so, no circuit + no heat, replacement item not expensive, thats where to start based on the information given, check the sensors you mention again, it sounds like your so close, good luck and work safe

hi there,

make sure that the program is not on the "Intermittent Agitate Program". that would be the cause of the delay.

the other issue would be the timer itself. the timer is mechanical, so once the contact on it is corroded, it will only function intermitently or not at all.

please let me know if i can be of more help.

thanks

SOURCE: F-08 error message on Hotpoint Washing machine

If it works fine with the heater off then i would say that fault appears to be element..the readings you get seem okay, put you meter onto megs and check, with wires off if you get electrical leakage between live and earth...Body....of element, it could be element is heating with no water in machine causing it to burn out..this is a problem with this machine...Wish you well

You are correct in guessing the timer. The tongs are stripped out and the best way to prevent this in the future, once you have installed a new one, is to turn the timer around clockwise - ONLY - and very slowly and gently. Your machine will last much longer. This is the case on all your electronic appliances.

Just contact us at:

We look forward to working with you and hope this solves your issue.

You may contact us from 7 AM until 9 PM CST Monday through Saturday.

Thanks, Ella

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

When the washer fills but does not agitate or spin then you can check if the lid switch is fine. You can jump start the lid switch by connecting both the wires with each other or use the third wire to act as jumper between the two. After this if the problem is solved then replacing lid switch is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My indesit dryer is IDV65, the drum is spinning but the dryer is not heating up and the clothes are still wet.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Indersit w83 will not work

to reste your timer you must put it on one of the black dots press the stert button and you will see the door LED flash rapidly now the timer is reset. But if after doing this it cotinues to click round thet would indicate a fault poss a pump or blockage, brushes in your motor or a motor fault, heater or control module. There are far too many posssibilities to go through them all. Good luck
