There are some ideas in the link. Check that the ink roller hasn't become dislodged and is dragging on the paper. Also check that there is no torn paper in the gap between paper and roller that has soaked up ink like a wick..
Remove the inks and if there's a printhead, remove it and check underneath, paper fibers and pet hair can cling to the printhead smearing ink everywhere. When the inks are in the center check on the right side for any paper scraps caught over there. Check your paper too, plastic coated paper doesn't let the ink sink in and you can't print on a CD unless it has a paper label.
I was getting a similar blur/blob down one side of the paper (with no discernable print anywhere,) but after removing and emptying the toner collection bottle my printing returned to normal. I am still working on the size mismatch issue, which seems to be prevalent in the 2300DL population.
you may have to clean the print head. since the jam cause the smear, and there still have some ink left on the print head.
you wouldn't get aclean copy till all of the ink trace are gone.
It could be both. Leaky ink can be a problem and that probly is the problem. But, make sure your rollers are clean and cheak that your ink is not leaking. I hope this has helped you. DigicalJAI
I figured out this problem it may cause; The problem behaves strangely why only on the right section the printout is not fused. The common section I first check is the high voltage circuit causing no static properties the powder shall be fused with the drum's developer. Now, it is clear also that the cause is within the drum. Pls check drum's life by printing the machine diagnostic details to check all moving and consumables counters. Clean the drum by rotating the developer roller. Well see if there's a irregularity of powder distribution. Have a nice day.
