    DYSON DC-11 MOTOR REPLACEMENT

    1. Remove dirt cylinders as normal
    2. Using large flat screwdriver, remove airway splitter and hose

    3. Undo 6 Torx screws from top and one at the back under tool holder

(Note that 2 front screws are shorter)
    4. Make sure the screws are completely withdrawn

    5. From the back, withdraw tool holder section

    6. Unhook and withdraw hose holder section

    7. Place large flat screwdriver behind the wheels and forcefully snap them off

    8. Remove 2 more screws under each wheel

    9. Cover now lifts off

    10. Motor pod is now visible. Remove its 4 screws and lift its lid

    11. Motor can now be lifted out. Disconnect its 2 wires

    12. Remove the rubber base and transfer to the new motor

    13. Connect wires, Red to Brown (Live) and Black to Blue (Neutral)

    14. Make sure motor is correctly fits on its alignment studs in the pod and replace its cover and 4 screws

    15. Replace top cover of machine, and the 4 screws under the wheels, but no other screws yet

    16. Turn machine on its side and hammer each wheel back on - take care that no fingers are under wheels while doing this

    17. Stretch and snap hose holder back into position

    18. Slide tool holder forward into position

    19. Replace the 6 screws into top section, and one into tool holder section

How do I empty dyson stowaway

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson

There are several different models (DC--) of Dyson Stowaway vacuum, and the method of emptying the clear bin after use would depend on which particular model you own.

If you own DC20 or DC21 Motorhead, the bin and cyclone pack separate so you can tip out the dust and debris

If you own DC23, the bin base opens at the push of the red release catch, dumping the dust and debris at arms' length:

I hope this helps. If you'd like any further guidance on using or maintaining your Dyson Stowaway vacuum, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How do I dismantle the telescopic wand on my DC20? I've tried washing it but the smell is still present. I think it needs separated

Hi Gerardette, it's Jack at Dyson.

We would strongly advise against washing or attempting to dismantle your DC20's wand. Not only can this cause damage as it's not designed to be taken apart, but the water can actually increase any odour coming from the wand as it may not be possible to dry it effectively. Attempting any maintenance not shown in the User guide could also void any guarantee remaining on your machine.

I would encourage you to contact our experts directly for some advice - you can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Disassemble dyson ball dc26 for moving

Hi Linda, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm happy to provide some further advice on how to dismantle your machine for transit. If possible, can you double-check the model number? DC26 is not a Dyson Ball model, and the directions would be different if you own another type of Dyson vacuum.

Once I have this information I will be in touch. Alternatively if you'd prefer to contact our experts directly, you can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

    Dyson has no power

The most common cause of this problem would be breakage of the wires in the power cord at the point of entry to the vacuum cleaner body. With the power connected you may be able to prove this by flexing the cord at this point, particularly by pushing the cord toward the body of the vacuum cleaner. If you get any signs of life from the vacuum cleaner you can know that this is the issue (not a foolproof test, but one that can be performed safely, provided that there is no visible damage to the lead).

A qualified repairer will ensure that the vacuum cleaner is not plugged in to the power, open the vacuum cleaner casing, note the wiring connections, disconnect the wiring and and strip the external sheath of the cable back to a point beyond the breakage, cutting off the damaged section of wiring and reconnecting the wires.

Cord will not remain OUT..keeps slip-sliding back in

The return is stuck on your cord retractor. Take the machine apart untill you can see the retractor, then there is a button or wire that retracts the cord. If it is stuck in the down possition simply reset it, if it is broke you must replace the complete cord retractor.
