Question about IBM Office Equipment & Supplies
Good afternoon! I have a Selectric System/2000 Wheelwriter Typewriter 6747/6747-2 which has decided to stop typing. When you press a key, it will strike however nothing appears on the paper. We have tried changing the cartridge and nothing has helped. Could this be a setting that we have mistakenly hit or some sort of mechanical issue? Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It is probably the print solenoid that has a broken cap. I have seen a few advertisers that sell the repair kit with instructions. It is fairly simple to repair.

The plastic cap on the print solenoid is probably broken. We sell them with installation instructions for 20.00 including shipping. DickyO Cleveland Business Machines 216-241-0027
