Hello: The instructions are below:

Replacing low beam headlights (H7) - more challenging

LHS (Battery side)
1.Open bonnet
2.Unless you have a large pair of hands then there is no need to move the battery for more working space. Turn the H1 cover anti-clockwise to remove. Holding it carefully, slowly move the cover around the side of the battery compartment and lift out. (TIP: the battery compartment is more flexible than the cover itself, so pushing the battery compartment from the side and pulling the cover at the same time does make it easier to remove the cover).
3.Remove the electrical connector from the bulb by pulling the connector straight back.
4.Unclip the hold-down wire, pivot out of the way and remove bulb from slot.
5.Insert the new bulb into its hole, pivot the hold-down wire and clip the end into its slot.
6.Push the electrical connector onto the new bulb and ensure it is connected securely.
7.At this point it would be good to test whether the lights work.
8.If they do, put back the cover and turn clockwise to lock.

RHS (Expansion tank side)
1.Open bonnet
2.Remove coolant tubes from the two clips (no need to remove the over flow tube). Remove expansion tank from its holder by pushing tab at the back (windscreen side) and pulling the tank up. You really need to pull the tank out onto its holders and tilt it to give you enough hand access to the cover (see attached photo). Took me a while to figure this out and at one point I considered giving up. Remove the H7 cover by turning it anti-clockwise and lift the cover out. You will need to squeeze it through the fat tubes to get it out and be careful not to drop it.
3.Follow LHS instructions from 3 to 8 to complete the bulb replacement.

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

When low beam headlight is on passenger sign is

Try this to eliminate new bulbs for both sides:
With a partner behind the wheel:
PULL out the bulbs one at a time. Keep them plugged in. While you are holding the bulb - have your partner click and HOLD the High Beam Selection. This causes the Low Beam and High Beam filaments to both go on and stay on.
Check both sides this way.
While the bulbs are out, look at the filaments that did not illuminate. Are they broken, bent, or have indications they are burnt out?
You can also change to bulbs (left to right, right to left) and recheck using the above method of holding the high beam selector and checking the filaments.

I can't get to the high beam bulbs on our 2005 Odyssey. How do I remove the headlight for easier access to the bulbs?

The procedure doesn't call for removing the headlight assembly. It is as follows:
The high beam headlight bulb and the low beam headlight bulb are replaced the same way.

Open the hood. To change the high beam headlight bulb on the passenger’s side, remove the power steering fluid reservoir from its holder by pulling it straight up.

Remove the electrical connector from the bulb by pushing on the tab and pulling the connector down.

Remove the bulb by turning it one quarter turn counterclockwise.

Insert the new bulb into the hole and turn it one-quarter turn clockwise to lock it in place.

Push the electrical connector back onto the bulb. Make sure it is on all the way.

Turn on the headlights to test the new bulb.

If you replaced the high beam headlight bulb on the passenger’s side, reinstall the power steering fluid reservoir.

Hope this helps, but if you are having some specific problem leave a more detailed comment and I will try to help you.
