Question about Nuova Simonelli Premier Maxi Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Program error I put the machine into program mode and go through the steps of dropping the shots and hitting the stop button, then hit the stop button twice to lock it into memory. I push the selected button that was programed and the shot pours and then the constant pour button flash's and the the shot has to be manually stopped with the stop button. How do I fix this program error? Could the board be bad? Could the flow meters be bad? Help Help Help.. Thank you

SOURCE: Dose buttons flash, and won't pour, after reprogramming.

It is possible that the flowmeter is damaged, That is usually the problem when the machine will not hold programming.

SOURCE: Whenever I try and pull a shot on my espresso

There is a problem with the flowmeter, it is located under the drain tray with 3 electrical connectors to it. The flashing means it cannot read the magnet on the wheel. You might have to replace the flowmeter. First try programming a button on the side that is not working, if it does not hold the program then it is the flowmeter.

There are 14 different test it can run through in this mode , but all we are trying to do is check for error codes now and maybe get you back to normal, So turn the knob one click clockwise and hit the START/PAUSE button and see if any error codes come up. How do you change the dosage time on a Cimbali Bistro espresso machine

You can do it one of 2 ways, if the machine has a display then you can go through the program mode by removing the face cover on the display and pressing the programing button then navigating to the dose setting menu, then select a button and change the numbers there. Note the numbers are not ounces rather flowmeter cycles.
Second way is to hold down the stop button for 8-10 secs you will notice the lights flashing and you will hear a faint beeping every second, press the button to program then hit stop when you get thew correct volume, when done with all buttons hit the stop again.

Espresso extraction time

You will need to reprogram the computer. To do this, it is relatively simple. take your grounds and tamp into your portafilter (I usually start with a double). make sure that you tamp it correctly.

Then, hold down the start/stop button until you see the lights flashing on the panel (if you want to program both groupheads at the same time, then hit the start/stop button on the other side as well.) Then with your portafilter inserted in the grouphead, hit the button that you would like to represent your double shot. you should see a water stream about the width of a cooked piece of spaghetti. After around 18 seconds to 22 seconds, you should have your shot levels filled. then hit the button that represents your 'double' shot to stop it. then hit the start/stop button. You will see the start stop button flash a couple times and then turn off.

That should do it. remember, that the preferred timeframe for a shot of espresso is 18-22 seconds. Your setting on the coffee grinder would then need to be set to make sure your getting a full shot in that amount of time.

Good luck
