Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Hi. I have a fat ps3 40 gig. Mine was freezing for a while and eventually it was overheating. I would suggest that if you have a warranty use it. If not you can open your ps3 give it a good clean. I also took the heat plates of the gpu and cpu and used thermal paste when reapplying. That was about 3 years ago and it still works like a charm. Have a look on you tube and search for the best options and have all the wright tools as a lot could go wrong. If you have playstation plus put all your saved game data online just to be sure. That will solve your problems.

If you have updated to the latest version of system (2.3) you need to phone Sony. There is a problem with the latest update causing console failure, by overheating the Blu Ray disc chip.
