Question about GE Profile Harmony DPGT750EC Electric Dryer
The dryer would not come on when power button pushed. If I wash clothes and the info is relayed from washer to dryer it will come on. When it is on all of the screen/functions work and it dries. Now...some days the relay will not work nor will the power button work. Not sure if it is a door problem the light inside the dryer does not work now either. Sometimes I cannot get it to come on at all..then try the next day and push the power button and it comes on like there was never a problem. When I push the power button it does nothing...no sound, no clicking noise, no beeps when it acts up. It is not a constant issue...it just started doing it more and more and then laundry gets backed up. Not sure if is a simple fix or if the main computer board is going out?

hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like ur motor is going out. Had this happen to my last dryer. If this is the case it will eventually just stop. Try running it without any laundry in it. if this works, then load it and see if it still works. (poor little motor has to work a bit harder with a full load) good luck.

Testimonial: "Thanks a million. Yup, that was indeed very helpful, and exactly what I needed. You directed me to the perfect solution. Thank you, thank you."
Using a screwdriver or similar, slender object, push the door switch in with door open.
Try to start dryer. If it doesn't start it is quite possible that the switch was not connected when you finished working on it. Check to make sure the wires are connected to the switch.
If both leads are connected, you can check the switch with a continuity tester. (About $3.00 at your local big box store should you not have one). With the dryer UNPLUGGED connect the clip to one pole on the switch. With the probe, touch the other. The light on the tester should only go on when you push in (with screwdriver) to activate switch. If the light doesn't go on, your switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

if motor will not run. check it out! it may be seized or in need of oil on end bearings. ( each end of motor ) just get access to the motor.
