Question about Vivitek Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Projector driver My new PC will not detect my Vivitek 538W projector. I am able to connect using my OLD PC (windows xp), but when I change to the new PC with windows 8.1 (using all identical cables) the projector doesn't find a source and the computer doesn't detect the projector. I have connected this computer with 3 different LCD televisions and they ALL are automatically detected and display perfectly. I have tried to hook up a monitor and the projector at the same time. The monitor works flawlessly, but the projector is not detected even when setting resolution to it's lowest point and trying to force detection. Here is what I am running on my PC: AMD Phenom II 8 core processor with an ATI radeon R7 250a 2GB Video Card. The outputs on the card are "DVI, HDMI, and VGA" The video card manufacturer states that any of these, or any 2 will function at the same time or separately. I have updated all of the drivers for the mother board chipset as well as the video card and catalyst control.

SOURCE: No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.

SOURCE: 3M MP7740i Projector no input is detected

Hi mrus821

If the signal won't go through you will have to either have your Mainboard Repaired or Replaced.

This is unfortunatelly a common Mainbaord problem , and the above is the only way to get it fixed.

SOURCE: Connecting Projector to High Def Source (e.g. PS3 HDMI)

That projector supports M1-D also which is the digital side of the M1-DA... Anyway, they sell cables that are M1-D to HDMI to which you can hook directly to the PS3. They are decently priced too, less than $20. I know this thread is old, but I came across it due to an issue I am having with my xb31, broken color wheel. Trying to find parts...

Hi--my new Vivitek D5 projector is not connecting to my Macbook. I have a mini DVI converter attached to a vga to DVI video adapter, but the projector can't "find" the source.

Please check your port with another source to confirm the working of the PC. Now also try to see if the projector connects with another PC. This will confirm the culprit as it is possible that there is a signal mismatch to the source input and hence not detected.

My vivitek d510 projector lamp is not turn on.

You need to check the power supply feed to the lamp circuit and if this is workingg fine check if there is lamp reset- hours used. Also if the filter is blocked remove and clean, check the fan and also the connections/connectors in the mother board.
If not there can be errors in the motherboard.

How do we connect the projector to the pc?

Hook up using the S-Video port, the VGA port, RCA port, or the RS-232 port. The USB port is not used for input on at least some of the Viviteks as per Vivitek Service"The USB port is not in input port. This is used for service only. Please use another input port such as RGB input. Regards, Vivitek Customer Service"

Hope this helps.

I installed windows 7 English version over a Japanese version (same windows 7) on my pc, but now it does not detect projector when I am trying to connect. Any solution?

It has nothing to do with installing English version over Japanese version , check it whether it shows in device manager or not, installed it. If you don't get the message"New Hardware Detected" when you plug the projector into the laptop, you probably don't have the drivers for the projector loaded into the laptop or computer and the computer doesn't recognize the projector. After your finished using the projector, be sure to disconnect it properly from the laptop. There is an icon in the tray, "Safely Remove Hardware". De-activate the projector BEFORE you pull out the USB cable from the laptop.

VGA port problem

That could be a video card driver issue. It seems that when the projector is connected, windows detects it a create another screen using up more memory. Try download a latest video card driver for your laptop http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/license.do?filename=mobiles/1rd635ww.exe this is for Windows 200/XP for the IBM Thinkpad T42. If that doesn't work then you should also try updating your operating system. Hope that helps!
