Repair for SPL77M Staples shredder

probably find that some cutters have been damaged and are hitting each other rather than sliding past each other
using wd 40 is lubricating those cutters but as the lubricant is used by the new paper it becomes inefficient
get a quote for repairs but generally ( unless the machine cost is in the 4 figure area) it is not cost effective to repair

the cost to repair ( if parts are available) generally are more than a replacement unit
it is possible that the shredder blades are blunt or damaged from staples and it is not cutting the paper but tending to tear it and that makes the motor work hard and over heat

To fix this get some dry Graphite spray lube....

Spray graphite

Spray this on the cutters and sides of the cutters to lube the cutters and bearings....this will stop the noise...and prolong the life of the machine...

Sounds like shreddder gears are not staying aligned or somethhing is caught in the cutters.
The shredder has a sensor to detect when somethine is insert. Hol the sensor swith down and check for paper clips or staples in the roller/shredding teath. Good Luck and use a match book on the switch to wedge it..

simply try resetting the machine. unplugging it waiting for about 30 seconds then plugging it back in, also is the unit mounted properly on the unit? It might be one of the gears that is not broken...if you have a warranty now would be a good time to call them as they will fix or replace the part for the unit.

sounds like the cutting wheels have something jammed inside them , can you take it bak and return it ? or open it up and see if anything looks bad inside ?

If it doesn't work at all, there is a reset button for the unit. After it is reset keep the cutters lubed.

if the unit is pulling paper thru but not shredding your cutters have separated for some reason. If not pulling paper thru but machine is running you probally have a broken gear causing cutters to no longer turn you may hear a clunking or grinding noise or gear may be stripped if shredder sounds like it is spinning freely. Contact manufacturer for parts availability.
