Question about Samsung Galaxy Cell Phones

Open Question

Contacts not synching to android

I received an email 9/7/2013 that the recovery phone number on my google account was recently changed. I don't use that account often other than the calendar and my contacts so I didn't notice the email until a week ago. I also noticed about a month ago that when I went into my gmail account and added a contact, it was not synching to my phone. My calendar is still synching but not my contacts. I have tried everything to figure out why. I even took it to a Samsung tech and he things it's gmail. I also took it to AT&T. They also think it's gmail. They have checked all of my settings and is not sure why I can't get my contacts to synch. I have removed my gmail and added it and it's still not working. I can see all of my contacts from my computer but they won't synch. I have to believe there is something wrong with my gmail account but I cannot get answers. PLEASE HELP!!

Everything on my phone was deleted, Is there any way I could get it all back?

Well, you have an Android phone, so some of your contacts may be stored on the SIM card, and/or the majority of your contacts should be saved in your Google email account that you set up your phone with.

Use this interactive tutorial to guide you on your phone:
http://tracfone.deviceanywhere.com/straighttalk/home.seam?custId=STSAS738C

..on the above website: Click on "Getting Started," then in the drop down list select "Add a Google Account" ..after you re-insert the existing Gmail account you set up with this phone before (not a new Gmail account) then the contacts that were saved inside that email will sync to the phone and repopulate the phone.

..it's possible that after some time after syncing your Google account to the phone that some of your data that was lost will be restored to your device if it was automatically backed up by Google into that email account. However, there is also a possibility that you may have lost all that information in the crash or reset.

Your Samsung Galaxy Centura S738C phone has an external memory card slot for a upto 32 GB microSD card. You may want to take pictures on your device and have the camera automatically save the photos to the microSD card. Any data you want to keep, you might want to back it up on the card and frequently move it off the card onto a computer or saved elsewhere. (MicroSD cards are fragile and can crash too. Nothing is indestructible, but better safe then sorry)

Stolen Samsung galaxy 4 how to recover

If you were signed in with your Google account, you can login and locate the phone on a map Using the Android Device Manager: HERE. This only works if the phone is still turned on and still logged into your Google account.

How do reset my Email account passwoord i dont remember my paswoord i need to see my emails but i cant im a job hunter need to see my inbox

You need to go to the gmail logon page and pick help.
Then pick I don't know my password.
Where it says
To reset your password, enter the email address that you use to sign in to Google. This can be your Gmail address, your Google Apps email address or another email address associated with your account.

So you can have the lost password sent to another email account, other than you gmail account.

I changed my number on my kyocera and didn't change it on Google account. I forgot password and can't receive a text for new password

You may/should have also associated another email account with your Google account for password recovery. Search for "google account recovery."

Recovery email address You don't have to provide a recovery email address, but we strongly encourage you to. Once you've started using Google as a signed-in user, we'll use your recovery email address to communicate with you under the following circumstances:
  • We need to confirm your username after you create an address
  • You can't sign in to Google
  • You've forgotten your password
  • You're about to run out of storage space
  • We need to alert you to any unusual activity involving your address
If you use Gmail, you may have added a recovery email address to your account when you first signed up. If you don't use Gmail, your password recovery address is the email address you used to sign up for your account (for example:myusername@yahoo.com)
To change or add a recovery address:
  1. Go to your Google Account Settings page.
  2. Scroll down to the "Signing in" box.
  3. Click Recovery email.
  4. Add your recovery email address.
  5. Click Done.
Your recovery address should be an email address that you use regularly.

Having a mobile phone number on your account is one of the easiest and most reliable ways to help keep your account safe and ensure that you can get back into your account if your account is taken over or you forget your password. Your mobile phone is a more secure identification method than your recovery email address or a security question because, unlike the other two, you have physical possession of your mobile phone.
Hackers target accounts without phones because they're easier targets. Add a phone and join hundreds of millions of other Google users who have helped stop hackers in their tracks.

To add a recovery phone number to your account:

  1. Go to your Google Account Settings page
  2. In the Personal info section, click Phone.
  3. In the Recovery phone section, click to add a recovery phone number if you don't have one yet.

Ways we will use your mobile phone number

We'll only use your mobile phone number to ensure the security of your account. Here are some ways we'll use it:
  • To challenge people when they try to take ownership of your account
  • To send you a verification code so you can get into your account if you ever lose access
  • To provide an alternate way for you to verify that you own an account
  • To help prevent people from getting into your account by guessing the answer to your security question
  • Optional: To alert you to possible threats to your account's security (for example, when your password is changed)

Ways we won't use your mobile phone number

Unless you make a specific request, we won't use your mobile phone number for anything other than protecting your account. For example, unless you tell us to, we'll never:
  • Sell your phone number to other companies or organizations
  • Call you for marketing purposes
  • Publish your phone number online

What type of phone you should use

You should use a mobile phone number so that you always have access to it. It's important that you can receive security alerts as soon as possible so that you can help keep your account safe.
