Sir my problem is that my SATA hard disk not detected by system. Also when i detect the SATA/IDE hard disk system hang, and nothing happen. But that time keyboard not hang. My SATA ports work...

Each PATA device (disk-drive or CD/DVD) drive has some small jumpers.

For the two devices connected via the one ribbon-cable,
set the jumpers on one device to the MA(ster) setting,
and set the other device to the SL(ave) setting.

Or, set both devices on the one cable to the C(able)S(elect) setting.

When properly set, both devices will be quickly and properly detected.

Be sure that your BIOS SETUP has been configured to allow SATA devices,
i.e., not set to "disabled" mode.

My acer aspire 4315 hangs during shutdown. windows XP OS

Hi,

This happens when there is a process still trying to work in the back end.

Try to disable most of the applications which get opened by default when windows starts.

Click on start/run/ and type msconfig. Once the window comes up click on start up tab and disable all.

Now try to reboot the system.

Also hope there is no usb device connected at the time of shut down. This would also make xp hang.

Thanks

If i enable the USB drive in CMOS.after booting the system is hanged.only mother board name mercury is shown.

The problem is with the Installed USB Devices. Check whether you are using any of the USB slots in your system. If any printers or any other USB devices are installed the boot will check with these devices, so your system is getting hanged. Try to disable the USB booting or else remove the usb device and then boot. This will resolve your problem.

My system get hang as soon as i plug my transcend pen drive

Did you try attaching the device before booting up? Do you have the most recent drivers? It is also possible your device is defective. Try to use it on another computer and see if the results are any different

LAPTOP KEEPS REBOOTING SAY DOWNLOADING 93% OF VISTA SERVICE PACK UPDATE THENS RESTARTS OVER AND OVER

Disconnect any hardware installed or plugged into your unit since your initial installation of Vista, including anything you have added to the machine if purchased with Vista initially installed.

The Service Pack will hang with some drivers of devices that you may have connected. Considering the point at which your install hangs, the very end of the installation, when basic matters are covered and optional devices are being considered by the installation, and the well known tendency of Vista to conflict with some device drivers, you should seek to have a BASIC install of Vista, before reintroducing external devices and and add-ons to your system like printers, scanners, cameras, external hard drives or burners or even your MP3 device which will hang up the basic installation which you must complete.

See if this works for you, as not enough specific information on your system was supplied to go further, and if you supply specific information as to your system, I and we will be more than happy to assist you further.
