I need a replacement thimble lock for a mitutoyo 6-12" outside micrometer(104-138 s/n#1080588).

i image the 6 - 12" is a fairly expensive set. you could buy the 0-1" which has the same thimble lock. i have one at home. and switch them out. can be bought $100 or less brand new. or search for an ebay bargain.ive never heard of the thimble lock go missing or break before. its doubtful mititoyo supplies replacement parts for mics.

The locking nut on my micrometer does not lock anymore, can i fix this?

yes. Just remove the screw in the lock, lift the lock arm off its shaft, and reposition at different angle. (put to lock, take off without turning, and set back on at unlocked position...may ned adjusting)

good luck

Adjusting the angle of the contact point on a Mitutoyo 513-402

By simply pushing it (the contact point), it may be stiff to start but should ease up over time. Remember if your doing precision work (0.001mm or seconds of a degree) changing this original position will affect your reading so refer to booklet within original packaging or visit mitutoyo website's (Japan, USA, UK) between them they have most instructions available it's just a question of finding it, Good Luck.
