How do I switch off flash

On this model I think you need to go into the camera menu, navigate to the internal flash setting and disable the auto function. Sometimes these CSC are set to have the flash fire automatically if there is insufficient ambient light.

Can i use my vivitar 4600 with my nikon d300s?

Yes. You can use the flash in auto or manual mode by setting the camera to manual shutter speed within the x-sync range and then selecting the aperture prescribed by the flash guide number or the displayed automatic f-stop on the flash. The flash can provide auto exposure with the camera in manual mode, but you need to be aware of the amount of ambient light which will not cause any exposure corrections by the camera in this mode. Another alternative is to select Aperture preferred automatic on the camera and the f-stop shown for the auto flash settings. This will allow the camera to vary the shutter speed but may cause long exposures if the camera is not sensitive to real-time flash readings.

My camera say no flash because of micro mode how do i turn the flash on?

The Micro mode is used to shoot close up images. Turning on the flash in micro mode will result washed out over exposed images. Hence in most cameras, choosing the micro mode will automatically disable the built in flash. Some Camera will show the message, cannot use flash or flash cannot be changed because of the micro restriction. This is normal operation. If you wish to use flash, please use some other manual priority mode.
thanks for understanding.

The flash cannot be used in Macro mode. To set the flash, press the up button (up on the circular multiselector). Choose from Force Flash (lightning bolt), Auto (lightning bolt and letter "A"), Red eye Reduction (eyeball), and No Flash (lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it).

I think it can be replaced.I don't know anything about the cost, but it shouldn't be that expensive, though. If you can fing a similar broken camera ..you could remove the flash from it and try and fix it to your camera. Cheers!
