Fridge shorting house meter box safety switch

Our F&P E442BA shorted the safety switch in our meter box twice over about 8 hrs but hasn't done it since. There's a very faint burnt smell a day later which was a little stronger after the second short. What should I check for and in what order?

SOURCE: shorted control board dispenser

Look and see if the door for the ice chute is closing all the way. This model is bad about that door breaking. If it doesn't shut properly then warm air getting in will cause this condensation. Will also cause ice in bucket to melt and water can leak onto these parts. If it isn't obviously hanging open then shine a flash light from the inside down the chute and see if any light comes thru to the outside. Maytag has a chute door kit that you can find on appliancepartspros.com. Their part # is AP3140440. Let me know if this helps or we need to go further.

SOURCE: fridge shorts power out

From your description it sounds like a short in the defrost heater circuit. It would normally be a repairable item. You may want to consider the age of the refrigerator before getting into the repairs.

SOURCE: after moving frigde and freezer quit.

Your compressor start relay has become loose or possibly defective.
Push it back on for a good connection.
Watch it when you plug the fridge in.
If it sparks replace it.

Sharp Quart Dual Grill 900w microwave not working. Turntable, light, grill all working perfectly. Can anything be done here?

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!any capacitors are discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

It may be possible that fan wire is connected to another wire, so it is short circuited. Thats why safety switch is may be tripped... Check the connection of the wire.

Fuse blown,door switch shorted

you need to readjust the"Interlock" switch position on the door, they are made to blow the fuse purposely when the door is mis-adjusted for safety, you will need to unplug the unit and disconnect the "interlock" safety switch, then readjust and close the door, until you can get the switch adjusted so it doesn't show a short circuit on the meter, then this should stop the fuse blowing issue for you

My dryer just stopped running?

It could be the door safety interlock switch. Remove the switch short the two wires and press start. If it works remove the short to stop the dryer and order a switch. If you have an Ohm Meter you can test the function of the switch without shorting the switch.

Heater fan C/B tripped twice in 2 weeks.CAMRY 91.

Usually there is a short in the system to ground and checking the wire harness at each component from the plugs is the best way to find if you are shorted to ground. If the harness does not show a short when you apply a meter to it, check each component with a meter through the prongs at the plug for a short. Don't forget the switch itself. Turning it through all of it's speeds. I am confident you will find the source.
