Question about Brother MFC-8670DN - 30 PPM Multifunction Network Monochrome Duplex Laser Printer, MFC8670DN, MFC 8670DN
No longer able to print 2-sided or booklet output- the page jams after printing the "front" side and the paper goes into the back drawer, then it jams, producing the message "paper jam duplex".
Remove the small, or scratch into pieces inside the duplex to clear the paper jam.

Take the toner cartrige out, look around with a flashlight for a piece of paper or something that could jam the works. Check the movable tab that comes out of the front of the machine to hold paper up, maybe it has gotten crooked or something. Don't have anything in front of the machine to block the paper coming out. A can of compressed air can be used to blow the machine out.

SOURCE: Brother CDW 4070 Duplex "jam".
1.Determine where the paper is jammed in the ADF on your Brother printer-- in the top or bottom of the unit.
2.Access the paper. If the paper is jammed in the top, open and flip down the cover on the left side of the ADF. If the paper is jammed in the lower part of the unit, lift up the document cover.
3.Grasp the paper on both sides and carefully pull it toward the right side of the machine and away from the feeder -- up slightly and right if working from the top; down and right if working from the bottom. If the paper rips and the remaining piece or pieces are too small for you to grasp with your fingers, access them from the opposite side or remove them with tweezers.
4.Return the ADF or document cover to its original position once you've removed all of the paper.
5.Push the "Stop/Exit" button to reset the printer to remove the error message from the display so you can start printing again.
