Once mounted on the tripod you can loosen the ring to swivel the camera (and lens) from landscape to portrait position.

SOURCE: I have a Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L USM Lens

Here is a link to many Canon products in PDF form: Canon Parts Lists

Unfortunately, the only 300mm 2.8 lens listed is the IS version

The procedure is not that complicated, but you need to pay attention to the connections on the circuit board. The mount is removed, and you need to remove the small screws that hold the connector board to the mount ring first.

I cannot do live chat due to I use a Mac, but I will monitor the thread if you have questions,

SOURCE: dropped the lens, the focus ring won`t move

You can send it to the canon-service but i think it will be cheaper if you buy a new or used one.

SOURCE: When I point the lens down it just drops into full

The lens is damaged inside, no way to adjust that outside and it definately shouldn 't do it. You need to get it looked at.

It seems that you have either a faulty lens or one which is performing outside of the minimum quality standards. You have clearly done everything possible to try and eliminate all other causes. Looking at the firmware updates for your camera, none of them mention an issue involving your lens but you may wish to ensure that you have the latest firmware anyway.

All you can do is to contact Canon customer care to request that the lens is exchanged.

Yes, your 600d has 1/4 threads at the bottom wich is ideal for tripod mounts, take the tripod head off the tripod, and line up the 1/4 tripod head and camera and screw in the tripod head into the camera (bottom), if any questions contact me thanks 4_15_2014_1_41_51_am.png

How much weight will the Velbon Victory 250 Tripod hold?

The tripod will certainly hold this weight. However the limiting factor is the head. Without knowing the head you have mounted on the tripod I'm afraid I can't tell you whether it would hold your camera and lens.

Tripod mount for canon 75-300 mm lens

The XTi (400D) needs to be attached firmly to a tripod with a tilting head to enable you to counteract this.

Hi, I have a Manfrotto 525 MVB tripod and I am trying to connect my Canon EW-78E to it but I am not sure how to? Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully you can help. Laura.

Sorry your question doesn't make scents the Canon EW-78E is a lens hood and the Manfrotto 525 MVB is a Pro lightweight video tripod there is no way to mount then together.

Plastic tripod mount

Thats a bummer. I don't think there is. I would check with a camera shop. You might want to try some locktite and see it that works but you will probably have to keep the tripod mount permanantly on your camera.
