SOURCE: Connection/configuration issue: I have a Denon

Just confirming my understanding of your connections :

1). The DVD1800BD output HDMI is connected to AVR3808's DVD-in HDMI.
2). The DVD/VHS recorder output HDMI is connected to AVR3808's DVR-in HDMI.
3). The DVD/VHS recorder input (S-video and L/R Audio) is connected to AVR3808's DVR-out(SVideo and L/R Audio).
Right?

What other inputs have been connect to your AVR3808?
Does the recorder have Component Video inputs?

Please also connect DVD1800BD's output(Component video, S-Video and L/R Audio) to AVR3808s' DVD-in similar inputs and try recording onto your recorder.

Actually, its possible that you may be having a HDMI HDCP communication issue(High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) with the source product (DVD1800BD). First check with the source equipment manufacturer for any updates to their products.

If HDMI video is not passing through your AVR3808, you can connect it thru the alternate connection method I have mentioned above.

If the connections/recording still does not happen with the added anolog cables, then let me know , we can trouble shoot it further.
I hope the above helps.

Please do rate this solution and thanks for using FixYa!

SOURCE: samsung ssc dvr -80

I dont think so, without a remote motion sensor..but you can set them up with the internal motion sensor and have it log the times that there is alarm activity or motion in your cameras... and you can just look at those portions of the recording and not the whole harddrive...good luck!!

I hooked my PS3 to my HDMI cable to get a better visual screen display for my HD movies and games, but display screen went blank and I cant get the commands menu screen, how can I get the menu commands...

You must reset your PS3 in order to accept the new TV configuration.

  • If the video output settings on the PLAYSTATION3 do not match those of the cable or TV in use, there may be no picture. If the screen goes blank, turn off the system.
  • Then, with only the PLAYSTATION3 and the TV connected, touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

  • Hope this helps please remember to rate my response, thanks!

I have a one year old Broksonic 19" flat screen LCD TV. I wanted to use it as a computer monitor, so I hooked up the VGA cord and selected PC as the input. Nothing. What am I doing wrong? Charles...

Is the computer set to send data to the video port? Laptops often have the external port disabled; check the BIOS. (This is often accessed by pressing F1, Esc or F2 before the OS loads. Check your documentation.) Then you can set the preferred monitor by looking at the Display settings.

Some desktops have a similar issue where only one port is active (DVI, HDMI, and VGA). You may need to connect a different monitor via the enabled port or use an adapter to get the VGA cable to mate with that port to change settings. (In the case of computers with video graphics cards and motherboard video ports, only one item is active. Try moving your cable with an adapter if needed to one of the other ports. Then change the BIOS setting if you do not want to continue using the adapter.)

Try a different video cable and make sure it is fully connected to both the computer and the monitor. Damaged cables are always suspect.

What OS are you using? Do you need to download drivers for the Broksonic? Go to www.broksonic.com and ask in the Product support section - they don't seem to have a direct link on the site. (For example some TVs are not compatible with the drivers in the Mac OS.)

    I hope this helps.

how many aux inputs does your tv have?(vid1,vid2 etc.)there must be a set of component inputs you can use to hook up your player. Another thing you can do is to hook up your player using the S-Video connector if one is provided on both devices(you will need the cable for s-vid).

Why won't my tv display my computer screen

Hi. The best way to hook your computers display to your LCD screen will be to use the VGA input socket. If your video card can support both S-video input and VGA, you can use either one but, the VGA is best for optimal resolution. This is the easy way to do this. Step one, connect the VGA cable to the computers video card and then, run the other end of this same cable to the VGA input slot on the LCD screen.Step 2, next you will make sure that the LCD's input selection is selected to show what is being transferred from the CPU video card by using the input button on the lcd remote control. The lcd(your tv) should be on VGA or PC input signal. Step 3, now, you Will have to also make sure that your video card is set to transfer this signal as well by pulling up your video cards software window and switch to the proper options. once this is done, you should get a signal. Be sure to use the VGA input/output ports on both the lcd television and your cpu for optimal transfer of the video stream. Here is a pic of your back panel. use the input port labeled I for good PC input quality.

    Connecting Laptop to LCD

VGA cable doesn't carry any audio: use your audio output from PC into TV audio Input (standard RCA).
You need to configure your Display Properties to manage TV screen to get an effective connection.
Either you have a generic Video Grafic Driver add on (I'm using Intel Graphic accelerator) on your display properties either you are using a specific (NVIDIA) driver for your video card.
To check go to CP/ Display, settings Tab and in advanced you should be able to check your choice (if you don't want to go to user manual.
You can also (in CP/ Display, Settings tab configure TV as a monitor and select your option accordingly: use screen resolution on screen # 2 not over native resolution of your VIZIO screen (1080 x 960?) and be sure to use all the parameters as TV can accept.
As soon as TV is configured as per resolution and refresh etc..
check the presentation function on your PC: it's normally a FN key showing a screen icon on key top (on my Acer travelmate is FN + F5) on aspire may be it's FN + F4.
This function key will circle between: PC mail screen -> External screen (as you configured on Display settings) -> both screen.
