WHEN I INSTALL THE DRIVER IT SAYS DRIVER INSTALLED CORRECTLY IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF THE SCREEN IN A SMALL POP UP MESSAGE... BUT THEN A MESSAGE SAYS 0X0006 AND THAT IT FAILED... WHEN I GO TO THE...

The Tascam control panel is on the START menu, since that part (the user software part) of the
installation succeeded - meaning that the Windows Registry has been loaded with the proper
entries for operation of the software as well.

You can de-install the driver before attempting to install it again. How to do this:
START > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager (button) > R-Click the Device >
Properties (menu selection) > Driver (tab) > Uninstall (button)

These instructions are for WinXP, if you're running WinVista or Win7, your mileage may vary.

Tascam us144 clipping

1. make sure your incoming signal is not too strong, this is i think the most common reason for clipping.
2. check the settings under audio performance in tascam control panel.. for vista click start> all programs > tascam> control panel> try changing the latency to normal or whatever works best with your system.
I never seem to have this problem anymore since I upgraded my desktop, with my slower system I had this problem all the time, so badly it was impossible to record an entire track.

Recording on cubase le4 using my tascam us122 mk2

You're probably not recording through your tascam interface. Go to control panel -> sound, and then select the us122 as your default sound device. Close cubase and open it again. Then go to devices -> device setup, and then under your asio drivers, select asio us122. That should solve it

8 ohm to 4 ohm

All you need to do is wire your 2 subs together in parallel. This means Hooking the positives of both subs together, as well as hooking both negatives together.

Your total resistance:

Rt = (R1 x R2) / (R1 + R2) = (8 x 8) / (8+8) = 4

reseat the HDD cables, just unplug them and blow on them to remove any dust or anything on the cables and the connectors and plug them back in, but first make sure it is unplugged from the socket and once it is press the power button to let all the power out of it so you don't shock yourself , i hope I was helpful and it solves your issue
