What size of neddles do I need for a juki MO2416N

The actual size needle depends on what fabric you are sewing. Lower numbers for light fabrics and higher numbers for heavier fabrics. I use mainly 10, 12 and 14 for normal cottons.

Removing the covers on a viking 980

I assume you're talking about the main back and front cover. Unless you really are skilled, I'd leave this project to a professional.
I've worked on the Designer I, II type machine and I believe yours has similar construction. You need screwdriver bits with a 6 pointed "star" head. Screws in the cover itself are "H10" size. Screws in the base are "H15" size. The back cover has to be taken off first before you can get at screws for the front cover. Typically there are 5 screws on the back cover that have to be removed and 2 in the bottom of the base. Note that the front and back covers "snap" together and have to be unsnapped after the screws are removed. If you have to take off the front cover (requires removing more screws in the cover and base), be careful with the various wiring harnesses that attach to the main circuit board.

My Singer XL400 gives me error #10 saying the hoop size is wrong, no matter which hoop I use. How do I fix this?

Update: In my case, the machine was broken. The main symptoms were that when opening the machine with the embroidery arm on, the embroidery wouldn't move at all as it should at startup and the error 10 would flash immediately. However, during my debugging time and as mentionned in Singer's FAQ (, I learnt that the order in which you put/turn on the machine, computer and accessories matters. For safety, you basically need to close everything including the software when switching hoop size. Good luck!

What size needle does the euro-pro x 384 take?

The needle size depends on the type of fabric you're using. Generally, if you're sewing heavy or sturdy fabrics you'll need a size 16 needle. If you're sewing light weight fabrics, you'll need an 11. Nowadays, most machines will take any brand of needles. I hope this helps. If it does, please return and rate my suggestion.

When starting to sew, cotton becomes knotted in fabric and machine stops. Have tried new cotton spool, new needle, checked for blockages, everything seems to be free-running. Advice please, thanks

it is possible that the needle & thread are not compatable
here's how to check
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

My needle broke on my Brothers LS-2125 sewing machine. I need to order a new one - and I need to know how to change it. Please help!

You can use any brand of needle. The flat part of the needle faces back. Undo the little screw that holds the needle slightly until you can remove the old one. Put the new one in all the way up as far as it will go (flat to the back) and tighten the screw. I would recommend a size 14 ballpoint for regular sewing
