Question about Canon PIXMA MP170 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Call Canon at 1 800 828 4040. I had the same error on mine. They are now shipping me a refurb unit at no cost, as well as a shipping label to return the old one.

You will need to replace the LOGIC BOARD ASSY.
Suggest you to purchase a new machine.

I get the same 6500 error and it wont fix i dont know whats wrong with this thing??! =(

I had to buy a different printer. I still have it here as back up in case someone knows how to fix it. I won't buy another Canon Printer. Too expensive to buy when it only works for 13 months. If I have to replace my printer every year than I am going with the cheaper brands. Sorry I can't help you!

Try http://www.canon.ca/english/index-customersupport.asp?pid=374 and look for your problem. I do not see a "6500" error listed.
