Pc always hang, automaticly restart

I have almost the same model what I did to stop this problem is install new heat sync on top of the CPU and clean out the dust and debris. When the computer gets to hot it reboots itself or restarts itself because of the thermostat reading to hot and they shut off or restart depending on the code written in the BIOS.
Try that fix first and see if this solves the issue it worked for mine you can purchase heat sync paste at your local Radio Shack or online at amazon.com which by the way is a great place for computer or anything else. Not a plug for them just what I use. Suggestion only.........John

Restart

Automatic Restart? Are you trying to Start Automatic Restart or Stop Automatic Restart?

If you have having boot problems and the system keeps restarting, then turn off the computer, then hit the power button and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Scroll down past Safe Mode and you will see an option to DISABLE AUTOMATIC RESTART. Take the Disable Automatic Restart option.

Pc always restarts upon booting

The default is for automatic restarts which does not let you see the error message. Power off your computer, turn it on; immediately hit F8 several times a SECOND; You'll get a screen that will have a number of options, one of which is turn off automatic restart. Check that.
Now you will get a "blue screen" message that will help diagnose the real problem.
Hope this information will help.
Your response is very much appreciated. Thank you for using Fixya...

Please my not less than one year old hp dv7 3165dx Pavilion is always shutting down minutes after startup...it never feels hott or wsrm to touch before this and the fan is working alright. No clogged up...

It sounds like your "automatic shutdown on error" setting is turned on. Here are the instructions to turn it off:

Restart the computer and press the f8 key to open the Advanced Boot Options menu.
Select the "Disable automatic restart on system" failure option.
Restart the computer to accept this change.

If there is an error, you will be able to see it after you disable this setting.

PC is restarting while booting

  1. Click the Start button, right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  2. Under System Failure, view the Automatically restart check box. If the Automatically restart check box is selected, Windows automatically restarts if the computer stops unexpectedly. If your computer constantly restarts while you are using it, or if you are trying to shut down the computer after it has stopped unexpectedly, click to clear the Automatically restart check box.

Unfortunately my problem is my computer always keep on restarting and cant go on straight to windows. operating system was Windows XP.

There's a setting buried in Windows XP that tells your computer to restart when a system error occurs. If you turn off that option, you may solve your automatic reboot problem.
  • Click Start, then open Control Panel
  • Click Performance and Maintenance
  • Click System
  • Click on the Advanced Tab
  • Click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section
  • Uncheck Automatically Restart in the System failure section

    Pc restarts automatically and unexpectedly

    Good Evening Sunnyseber :

    Hope that you are wellJ
You did not indicate the type of Operating System.
This document pertains to HP and Compaq computers with Windows Vista. If Windows Vista suddenly starts without warning, or restarts when you try to shut it down, it may be because your operating system is set to automatically restart when certain system errors occur. This feature of the Windows Vista operating system can be disabled. Use the information below to disable the Automatically Restart option. NOTE: In addition to the steps in this article, updating video card drivers is known to resolve many of the problems that can cause the computer to restart. Step 1: Disabling Automatically restart option to view error messages You can prevent the computer from restarting by turning off the Automatically Restart option:
    1. Click Start c00971562.gif .
    2. Right-click Computer , and click Properties
    3. Click Advanced system settings .
    4. Click the Advanced tab and select Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.
    5. Remove the check mark next to Automatically restart under System Failure .
    6. Click OK to close the Startup and Recovery window and click OK , again, and then close the System Properties window.
    7. Restart the computer. NOTE: The computer will no longer restart automatically when a problem occurs. Instead a blue screen appears with more useful information. You can now search for a resolution using the text from the error.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

And, remember, always include the type of Operating System and the type of computer you own, when you submit your questions. It simply makes for much faster solutions.

    Have a wonderful evening.

    Webcam not found

I have found that if the webcam software has a program that automatically starts its own OEM program then you have to open that program and find the settings for turning it off or on. Two programs will not want to share a webcam.
