Desktop software wont load my applications

Hey guys! i have a Blackberry Bold 9000. Its runnning on BB OS 4.6.. My problem is when i plug my BB in my computer, and open my BB desktop manager, everything works fine BUT, my desktop manager cant seem to load any of my apps thus, i cant update any of my apps and OS! anyone know what i should do to fix this? :(

First thing to try is disable the computer firewall and virus scanner.

SOURCE: how to reload software 513?

I have a blackberry curve that drove me crazy because the application loader didnt work with mine either but here is what I tried and it worked for mine so hopefully it will work for yours. First, go to the blackberry.com website and click on software. Then click on device software. Select the version that is compatible with your phone. Be sure that your phone is connected to the computer with the USB cord that is came with. Then click download and follow the instructions from there. This should reload the software on your phone.

Step #1
Before starting make sure you have BlackBerry Desktop Software installed on the computer.

Step#2
Make sure that you have installed updated device OS is installed in your PC. Check this link to get update device software from carrier OS download site:

Users can perform a full or selective backup of the data using the Backup and Restore apps in BlackBerry Desktop Manager by completing the following steps:


  1. Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer
  2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager
  3. Open Backup and Restore
  4. Select Backup to perform a full backup or select Advanced to perform a backup of specific databases.
  5. Choose a location to save the backup file, then click Save.
Step#4
To perform a clean install of the BlackBerry Device Software, perform the following steps:
  1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager
  2. Open the Application Loader it will prompt if there is any new/updated OS is available
  3. Click Next to start the installation process
  4. Type your BlackBerry smartphone password, if prompted, and click OK
  5. Click the check boxes next to the names of the applications you want to load, and then click Next.
  6. When the process has completed, the message The loading operation was successful will appear.

Ok, you may lose your data, but try this first to see if you can load the opertaing system without losing your data.

First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.

Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.

1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Reload software 513 for my blackberry 9700


HI markyague do you have the desktop manager loaded on yout computer. If you do the the software is you need to reload your applications onto your blackberry. You will need to backup the information as you reload the doftware if you do not. You will be in out of luck on the contacts and any other nformation. The bb desktop will help you save all your information from the phone. yES EVEN YOU BBMS. Hope this helps

How do i reload software 513 on blackberry bold 9000 or where and much will i be charged


All you need to do is sync your blackberry with your blackberry desktop manager and run the application loader. Unfortunatly you will lose all data on the phone because you will be re-installing the software. If this doesnt resolve the issue then, this is a device issue. You will need to contact your service provider for replacement options!

Blackberry Bold cannot charge and screen goes blank


1. You could have an OS problem or hardware issues.

Simplest first to troubleshoot the OS, by loading a newer, updated OS release.

2. If you can live without performing a backup of your device you can follow these steps to correct the issue:

1. Download the latest Vodafone UK firmware using this LINK (4.6.0.282)
2. Install the firmware onto your PC running BlackBerry Desktop Manager
3. Go to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and delete the vendor.xml file.
4. Connect your device and open Desktop Manager
5. When prompted select "Upgrade Now" (If you are not prompted select Applications Loader > Update > If your device isn't detected remove the battery and connect the device > once the update starts insert the battery again).
6. Follow the prompts and your device will be upgraded.

BLACKBERRY BOLD HAS NO POWER,WILL NOT TURN ON. THE ONLY SIGN OF POWER IS THE RED INDICATOR LIGHT TOP RIGHT....ON SOLID. CARRRIED OUT REBOOT TAKING OUT SIM AND BATTERY. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APRECIATED.


I have the same problem with my Blackberry 8120, died this morning, will not switch on, no red light, no charging light, completely dead... my computer does not recognise the blackberry at all so cant install any new software.. plus I need to recover all the information that is on the handheld... please help if you can....

Take backup of the handset
BB messenger works only if BB services are working fine
Update or reistall the software or application, using Blackberry desktop manager.
