I have a RCA Digital Broadband DHG535-2 modem but my Apple Airport Extreme router does not work, any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Apple uses airport for its wireless connection, how ever the device where you want to connect to should have the wireless feature embeded to it or you should have a wireless router to distribute the wireless signal, if you are using just a modem which doesn't have capability of distributing wireless signals, the Apple airport will surely not work for it requires a modem to connect to. you need to get a router and connect it in your modem so the Apple will work for wireless as well.

I have a digital broadband by Thomson model number dhg535-2, the power must have flicked and I cant get it back online. How do I get it to reset and how long does it take. The lights seem to cycle...

There should be a tiny button that you can press with a toothpick on the back side of your router. Press it for 5-6 seconds and wait untill it restarts. Thomson routers in general takes long to restart so maybe you wait for about 3-5 minutes.

How to reset a DHG535-2 Thomson broadband router email won't work

Try to look on the back of the router (where the cables are plugged in) and find a small ( size of the end of a bic pen ) hole. Insert a paperclip gently until you feel a click. Good to go!! Some settings will need to be set back up.

DHG535-2 and LAN switch issue

It sounds like the LInksys that they replaced was also a router. A router will route packets to multiple pc's that are connected to it. The cable modem just sees the router as 1 pc. When you use a switch, the cable modem will see all of your PC's. and Comcast just allows 1 pc. You will need to buy a router to use more than 1 PC which will be cheaper than using Comcasts Home Networking service which will network up to 4 pcs

I have A thomson rca dhg535 from comcast.I disconnected the box to move it.After I reconnected it, all the lights came on,but the link light keeps blinking

There is a reset button on the back accessible only by a pen or paper clip. the dhg535 has an internal battery and needs to be reset every time the connection changes or is removed.

Please help...internet won't connect

You may be running into a problem of your ISP only allowing one computer on the internet. while the internet is on can you access the internet from the desktop comcast originally setup?  If so that is more then likely your problem.

I have comcast myself and they told me they do not allow home networks. I fixed that problem by using the mac address cloning feature in my router.

The setup cd is also junk, all you should really need to do is:
1. unplug modem, router, and turn off computers
2. Plug modem into router
3. Plug computers into router (don't worry about wireless right now)
4. Turn on modem, wait 20 seconds or so for lights to set,
5. Turn on router. again wait for lights to set
6. Turn on ONE computer that is hard wired into the router
7 Try to surf the net.
8. If successfull try to connect wireless computers (Without using cd) and see if they surf.

If not call comcast and see if your computers are trying to obtain real-world ip's instead of LAN ip's like they should.
If so, you'll need to enable DHCP on the router.

Modem light flashing

If you haven't already done so, contact your cable provider and let them know what is going on. There may be a signal issue and your modem is losing its lock on the carrier.
