Which wire goes to the power supply side of the parking brake on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche?
I need to find the wire that goes to the power supply side of the parking brake switch to hook up my Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS. I thought I had found it but when I hooked up to it the parking brake idiot light remained illuminated on the dash and the vehicle thought the brake was on when it wasn't.

There should be a brake light switch under the drivers side mounted on the brake pedal it may have broke or come out of adjustment in any case you could push the switch in by hand and tape it as to not drain your battery until you can get a replacement part for it if indeed it needs to be replaced otherwise it may just need to be adjusted.
Hi, this is not a terrible job, but you are correct, the axles need to be removed, After this, you remove the park brake shoe, cable, and hardware.Unbolt the shield, swap over park brake stuff, and reassemble. Not extremely har, but is a b it time consuming. Good luck...Coop

This wire goes to the "Hot" side of the parking break switch... When the Parking Break is put on, a switch is closed, thus putting an "Earth" on this wire.. Ya can often bypass this by connecting to earth. Sometimes this wire can be "Hot" +12v so B4 doing anything with unit "On" check this wire for any Voltage.
