# 11 appears when it trys to start...... not heating

Code # 11 indicates an Ignition Failure. According to the Owners Manual you should do the following: Check that gas is turned ON. Check that the vent termination is not blocked. Refer to the Restart Function explanation.

RESTART FUNCTION:

If the appliance fails to ignite, the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, 11, will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. If ignition fails again, then the fault code will remain and another attempt to ignite will occur in 1 hour. The fault code is not stored in the fault code history.

If the flame is extinguished during forced combustion then the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, # 11 will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. Forced combustion takes place for about 15 seconds after ignition. After this time, the temperature control logic controls the combustion.

If the flame is extinguished (burner combustion failure) while the temperature control logic is operating the appliance, then the appliance will immediately attempt ignition. No fault code will appear.

In this problem repeats itself, contact you local Rinnai Authorized dealer/serviceman.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

MY IDEAL LOGIC 30 HAS FAULT CODE L2 ALMOST EVERY DAY SINCE INSTALATION DEC 2010

is boiler still under warranty?
normal warranty lasts at least 2 years
if so get ideal to send one of their engineers out
L2 relates to flame failure
either boiler has failed to ignite
or
boiler has not detected flame once lit

several causes

failure to ignite
ignition electrode/spark generator

failure to detect lit flame
detection electrode/detection lead

blocked condensate pipe
or defective condensate syphonic trap

you really need an engineer to check these components

Ffl on board

This means false flam sensed. As in the controller thinks there is a flame even though the gas valves are closed. I would suspect bad igniter/flame sense. If you have the manual, it tells you how to reset the fault history. That will clear the error message. Then try firing the heater again. Try this before repairing it to validate error message.

Hi, the lights on my circiut board are flashing the one on the left is on all the time and the one to the right of it flashes two times and then waits and then flashes two times again

Error Codes
A green LED indicates system faults
Steady On: System OK
Steady OFF: Board control fault or no power applied
1 Flash: Ignition failure (control in one-hour lockout)
2 Flashes: Pressure switch fault, fails open (switch is
stuck open)
3 Flashes: Limit switch open (main or auxiliary)
4 Flashes: Pressure switch fault, fails closed (switch is
stuck closed)
A yellow LED indicates flame status
Steady on: Normal flame is sensed
Flashes: As flame weakens, frequency of LED flashes
increases

hope this is helpful.

Codes for model 335B Raypack Gas Heater

Codes should be found inside of the cabinet in the uper left corner.
If they are not there, here are the basics

EOL = Testing mode
BDI = BOARD FAILURE
EEP = MEMORY CHIP FAILURE
PRS = PRESSURE SWITCH FAILURE
HL1+HL2 = HIGH LIMIT EXCEEDS 135F
SPR = AUXILLIARY INPUT FAILURE
ROL = ROLL OUT SENSOR TRIPPED
SNS = TEMPERATURE BELOW 36 OR ABOVE 110F
FFL = FALSE FLAME SIGNAL
GCO + GVC = POWER TO GAS PV OR MV WHEN NOT SUPPOSED TO BE
FAN = AIR SWITCH OR FAN FAILURE
TAB = TAB FOR LO NOX NOT BROLEN OFF OR AIR PRESSURE SWITCH FAILURE
ILO = PROPANE GAS LOCKOUT AFTER 90 IGNITION TRIAL
IGN= LOSS OF FLAME OR FLAME SIGNAL

Have an error code GVP

You didn't indicate what model heater you have, but here are some of the fault codes you might see. Could it have been GVO? You can download a manual for your exact model at www.raypak.com
BD1 Board failure
EEP Microprocessor error
FAN Blower pressure failure
FFL Flame sensing when pilot and gas
valves are closed
GVC Gas valve closed
GVO Gas valve open
HL1 High limit switch #1 open
HL2 High limit switch #2 open
IGN Ignition failure
ILO Ignition lockout - Propane units only
PRS Water pressure switch open
ROL Heat roll-out safety switch open
SNS Sensor failure, Water temp. below 36°F
or above 110°F
VNT Vent switch open

F4 fault with Vizo Plus 24. Not condensation tube as this was changed to new tube with sensors on ''blue plug'' by engineer last year when I called them out for re-curring F4 fault - new sensors are bone...

Hi, if the ignition module fires or tries to fire 4 times, this indicates the module is faulty and locks out for safety reasons because of an internal fault.The f-4 code sounds like the pressure switch was open due to condensation not letting it fire up, so the switch was ok, so they changed out the tubing. When you re-set the boiler control module, it locks out due to a internal fault. Change it out and you will be back up and running. The electrodes from the module will cause this as they come from the module. Make sure the condensate trap has no blockage at all as this can cause this problem. I am not guessing, I would replace the boiler module control that you have been re-setting. Keep me posted,
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

you could have a problem with a temperature sensor.
it would not be the flame sensor since it could not wait 6 mins to sense that there is flame in the unit.
could be a temperature sensor problem where it is sensing a temperature which could be correct but it is sending a wrong signal to the controller to turn off the flame and start another cycle.
