Question about Frigidaire FTF2140FS Front Load Washer / Dryer
I have to manually start each cycle. I have checked for clogged drain hose, I have duct tapped the door to make sure it's not coming loose. What else could it be?
Good Afternoon Nicole, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Typically, the Start light flashing indicates that the cycle has paused or the door is not securely latched. If the hose is not clogged and the door is closing properly, then more than likely your washer is experiencing a communication problem with the control board or wiring issue. At this point, I would strongly recommend contacting a professional to make the necessary repairs.
Best of luck!

This often is a drain hose that is too low or a drain hose that has been pushed too far down inside the stand pipe....the water is actually siphoning out of the washer. Do not "seal" the drain hose to the house plumbing pipe, this will also allow the water to be siphoned out.

Actually don't buy a new door mechanism yet. There is a metal ring that holds the rubber tub to the rest of the washing machine. It has a spring at the bottom of that ring. Pull it down and you will be able to get the ring off. Carefully peel back the rubber tub on the right had side near the door latch. Reach in side and unplug the bottom connector for a few seconds and plug back up. (Do this all with the power on). Then put the rubber tub back around the frame and put the metal ring back on. This should solve your problem. I had the same issue not too long ago.

A year later! I experienced the same problem this morning - exactly as you, Bessie24, stated. I could hear a faint humming sound and thought the lock mechanism was still trying to complete its locking function. It would know the lock function was completed when the lock trips the wee (micro) switch. I reckoned if the female portion (with switch) were a tiny bit loose, the switch might not trip, so I loosened then tightened the two screws attaching it to the carcass of the washer (as opposed to the door part) while pushing upward on the same part. This fixed my problem and i hope many others find this procedure useful.

Take note if the drain pump is operating. If it stops halfway, it must be stopping for a problem that has arisn, Normally, the water is not being pumped out.

Hello friend, I appreciate your post!
From my understanding your front load washer LTF2140FS2 is beeping 9 times and then you have to unplug it and plug it back in. When the unit is beeping do you notice any additional lights on the panel coming on? This information would be helpful in assisting you with getting a proper explanation to your current problem. -Matt
