Question about GE Pcb assy - WB27X10437

Open Question

WB27X10437 We woke up one morning and the microwave was running by itself and making a weird buzzing sound. the sound is coming from the PCB power relay. I suspect the relay needs replacing but some techs say it may be something else as the relays don't usually go bad. The magnetron is functional and heats properly. Help please

This is not safe. If the fan is not running, the magnetron will quickly overheat and be destroyed. We answered this in more depth in the other place you asked it.

SOURCE: GE Microwave strats, runs, but not heating and have bad odor

there should be 4 screws holding it in.. and one plastic connector with 2 wires in it that are plugged onto the mag..
the seal would be the gold colored mesh around the antenna of the mag. when you take the microwave down you would take the cover off and if looking at it from the back you would look towards the right side and there should be a thermostat there that may have started to burn up. if it is replace it and the wires.. the mag you just unscrew remove and install the new mag.

SOURCE: Unit has power - program to heat - cavity light

This appears to be a classic magnetron failure, the magnetron has failed and most likely the high voltage diode as well, BOTH of these items will have to be replaced, also check the PSU out too, there maybe a bad diode there too..

Makes a really loud buzzing noise during operation

Unit uses a Magnetron and likely a power board called an inverter to run it. Someone would have to open the unit in a way where they might pinpoint where the sound is coming from and then take action--does not of course sound normal or good to me.

My tv started just fine yesterday. i have it set up on a timer to turn off at 1am and turn back on at 7am. i heard it come on this morning and the news playing. then my gf woke me and said she thought...

The buzzing sound is usually the color wheel gone out. Remove the bulb and housing and look behind it, you can see the color wheel, it may have shattered and there will be glass on the bottom of the tv, or it just may not spin. You can repair it yourself, just put make model and replace color wheel into google and instructions will come up.

My TV won't come on, just makes a weird buzzing sound twice then shuts back off. Tried unplugging it, made no difference

there is nothing you can do,other than have a tech repair your tv.that buzzing sound comes from a leaking capacitor in the power circuit.or from the flyback.good luck.

Weird noise over everything

According to the Samsung website: "The high pitched sound you hear is probably coming from the flyback transformer. The flyback transformer converts the relatively low voltage electricity that comes from the outlet in your home to the high voltage electricity needed to drive the cathode ray tube in your TV. It is not unusual for a flyback transformer to buzz softly when it operates. However, if the sound is loud and high pitched, it probably means the transformer is failing. To eliminate the sound, you will have to get your TV serviced."

My Microwave flickers and buzzes

This problem normaly happens when the door is not closed properly for a long time and flashing and buzzing starts to give user a indication for same. Allthough it is not risky as microwave oven has safty door switches wich does not allow oven to operate while door is open. Take care and close the door properly before you leave kitchen..

Microwave Buzzing

It is not safe. If a microwave oven cooks without the cooling fan running, then your magnetron will soon overheat and be destroyed. At our Web site, we have important safety information plus information on diagnosing and replacing door switches. Our site is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk If it;s not a door switch, then it may be a problem (such as a bad relay) on the control board. We repair these nationwide for $32.50 postpaid in most cases, and you can find out more through that link, too.

Starting by itself

Time for a service call. Should not turn on by itself at any cause. Circuit board is my guess. May be cheaper/easier to get new microwave. My first one lasted about 15 yrs--and the circuit board (touchpad) died. Bought new microwave oven.
