Here is the link to Cretors distributors, but they do not make a HMKJ8a model. http://www.cretors.com/dealers.asp?i=16

I do not know who makes it, and a web search did not find anything. Please double check your popper model.

Heating element and wiring needs to be checked for continuity. If element is bad, you will have to replace it.

Why won't the kettle heat up to pop

The heating element needs to be checked to see if it has power and if it has burned out. To do this, you need a meter that checks voltage and resistance. To test it, locate the connections to the heating element and with the machine unplugged test the heating coil with the meter set to measure resistance. It should not be infinite. IF it is then the coil is burned out.

How and /or where to get the heating element

Any concessions Distributor will have access to cretors Parts. http://www.cretors.com/dealers.asp?i=16

You should talk with there service department first, The heating Element is always the last reason for a kettle to stop heating. Look at wires, thermostat, switches, and plug connectors first.

After clening the kettle it blows breakers

You got the Heat element and or thermostat wet. Open the kettle to expose the electronics and let it dry for days. try again it might dry out.

Or you will need to replace the heat element, thermostat, and probably the wires. if it hasn't dried out by now.

Need to hook up wire for the element in the kettle of my GR6A1X -XX -X

Here is the wiring diagram for that model. Black(hot) wire to empty side of thermostat, red(indicator lamp) wire is doubled to the wire that goes to heat element, and the white wire is attached to far end of heat element.

Not familiar with the model but my best guess would be it needs a new heating element.
