SOURCE: Rascal liteway 3 will not

Red light flashing 7 times is likely caused by problem with the speed control dial. Most likely something is wrong with the contacts. This type of problem needs attention by the service centre nominated for Rascal scooters in your area.

Check this site for details.
Hope you are able to get it fixed soon.

SOURCE: I have a Liteway Rascal

hi.
as far as i can find out, this is part of the self diagnosing, fault finding system on newer scooters.
different number of flashes signifyiing different faults. i cannot find a specific manual for the rascal scooter, but on most scooters of this type 9 flashes is listed as "other internal fault, return to dealer for inspection"

this could cover absolutely anything. the only thing i can suggest, is that oyu check all of the electrical connections are clean and secure. make sure there is no obvious damage to any wiring, and that all of the control units, motor, and brake unit are clean and secure on the scooter.
there is very little else that a user can do to these scooters, other than returning it to the dealer for a full inspection.
dealers should be able to give you a free estimate of repair costs. and then it is up to you if you have it done or not. the only thing to be careful of, is that most dealers are just interested in selling new scooters, so they will try VERY hard to get you to buy another scooter rather than have your existing one repaired as they can make far more money this way. you will have to stand your ground to get a free estimate.

good luck.

hope this helps

SOURCE: rascal liteway 224 scooter

Hi Allen,

The problem is that although it is physically in neutral, the safety switch for indicating it is in neutral is not working correctly. It could be the switch itself or the wire(s) from the switch. Get a manual and see if you can trace the wires from the neutral switch.

Hello I have a 1994 maxima manual transmision,it have a check engine light on,when I start the car and beguin to drive it,runs perfect the a few minutes later the car gets very lazy almost want to turn...

Hello! I'll need the trouble code to fix your vehicle...Below is procedure with a code list...Guru...saailer

Remove the trim panels in front of the center console. Locate the engine computer attached to a floor-mounted bracket on the transmission tunnel between the console and the firewall.

  • Turn the diagnostic mode selector, located in a round opening on the side of the engine computer, until it stops. Observe the small red and green LED lights on the side of the computer next to the mode selector. They will flash to indicate the modes, with a pause between each mode. One quick flash is mode one, two quick flashes is mode two and so on. When the light flashes indicate mode three, quickly turn the mode selector counterclockwise until it stops. You have entered mode three diagnostics.

The red light flashes to indicate the "Tens" digit of the code and the green light flashes to indicate the "Ones" digit of the code. For example, if the red light flashes two times and the green light flashes seven times, this would indicate code 27.

Turn the ignition key off for two minutes to exit diagnostics. The computer will automatically return to mode one for normal operation...

My Rascal 318 has two constantly flashing yellow light and will not work. Help

    Hi wrosser2

Two constant yellow flashing lights indicates three things
    1. Low voltage. Load test your batteries even if they are new. You may need to take them out and charge them on a car charger. Your charger won't work without at least 20 - 22 volts. Your inhibitor on the charger won't close to make continuity to turn the charger on.
    2. With an olms meter check your front to rear harness for continuity. If you have a bad wire, replace the front to rear harness.
    3. Third and most costly is a bad controller. No way to check that without replacing it. Check 1 & 2 first.

    Good Luck

    According with the manual...

LED Flashes 7 times means a Throttle fault. Engager levers must be in neutral (centered) position before venicle is turned on. Paddle fault and speed pot fault. Switch vehicle off center levers and switch back on.

I suggest contact the technical service supoort to solve it.

1994 Chevrolet 2500 Trouble codes. I have a 94 Chevy 2500, it flashes error 3 across the dummy screen with the truck mileage. I hooked it up to a diagnostic code reader, I got the following codes: 12:...

    DTC 12 -
When terminals "A" and "B" have been connected, the ignition switch turned to the "ON" position with the engine not operating, the MIL (Service Engine Soon) should flash DTC 12 three times consequently. This will be the following flash sequence: "flash, pause, flash-flash, pause, flash, pause, flash-flash, pause, flash, pause, flash-flash." DTC 12 indicates that the control module diagnostic system is operating properly. If DTC 12 is not indicated, and a fault is present within the diagnostic system itself, it should be addresses by consulting the appropriate diagnostic chart in this section.

The MIL (SES) will indicate a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) three times if a DTC is present, or it will simply continue to output DTC 12. If more than one DTC has been stored in the control module memory, the DTC(s) will be displayed from the lowest to the highest with each DTC being displayed three times.

DTC 32 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Error
EGR open command did not change the fuel mixture when the command was given during off idle operation. EGR opening should cause the mixture to be slightly richer because of the low oxygen content of the exhaust gas. EGR position signal is also monitored to verify EGR movement.

The EGR relies on a certain amount of exhaust back pressure to work properly. Now that you have lowered the back pressure, it can't work. Have you tried a new EGR valve? You may need a service manual with an EGR diagnostic chart to make sure, but I think the duals are the problem. Plus the O2 sensor is only looking at one side of engine instead of both.

Keep in midn this procedure to Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes:
To clear the DTC's from memory of the control module, either to determine if the malfunction will occur again or because the repair has been completed, the Tech 1 Scan Tool should be used to clear the DTC's. If a Tech 1 Scan Tool is not available the following must be perform'd when all repairs have been completed. This will allow all DTC's to be cleared:
    1. Ignition "OFF."
    2. Ground diagnostic terminal "A" to "B" of DLC (Data Link Connector).
    3. Ignition "ON."
    4. Fully apply brake pedal.
    5.Fully apply accelerator pedal.
    6. Check MIL (Service Engine Soon) for DTC 12.
    7. Release brake pedal.
    8. Release accelerator pedal.
    9. Check MIL (Service Engine Soon) for DTC 12.
    10. Turn ignition "OFF."
    11. Remove Jumper from DLC connector.

NOTICE: To prevent control module damage, the key must be "OFF" when disconnecting or reconnecting module power.

    Good luck.
