Question about Eclipse SW8102.4 Car Subwoofer
I brought a 12" mutant x 1205 sub 2day wired it in ( which iv done plenty of times b4). It was working fine then just stopped. On inspection the protect light on the amp was on and the sub cone was rock hard. Then i took the sub out of the box and there was plenty of smoke. Now i realise that the sub is obviously fried i'm just miffed as to what has caused this as i just shelled out for a brand new sub 5 mins down the road and its knackerd.
I wired everythink correctly i am certain. When i disconnect the sub from the amp and restart the car the green light on the amp stays on so i think the amp is o.k but i'm not to sure.
all help greatfully received.
Maybe u had ur crossover set to full on the amp. Check it bcause, if you have to many high frequencies sent to any subs at a high level u can seize them in minits.
