Lower looper cotton keeps breaking

Usually it means it is not threaded correctly. Remove ALL the threads from your machine. Be sure you RAISE the presser foot when threading. ALWAYS thread in the correct order. Verify the thread path for each is correct. Check that the threads are seated in the tension disks--give each a little tug when going through the tension disk. Be sure that the thread tree is extended to its full height. Check that the lower looper threads are not set too tight. Also, always use fresh thread--no old stuff from grandma's sewing basket.

ONE MORE TIP: When a thread breaks, you will usually find it less frustrating to unthread the ENTIRE machine and start from scratch. Trying to fish a thread out of sequence will most often times end in failure.

Why the thread cracked with when i sticked with the machine

Thread breakage could occur for several reasons.

First, try a brand new needle.

Second, use only good quality thread--NOT old thread or bargain bin varieties.

Third, when threading the upper thread, be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot throughout the threading process.

Verify that the thread path is correct (consult the owner's manual). Incorrect threading will usually break the thread.

Check that the upper thread tension is set at the midway point between the high & low numbers.

The top thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle
8. Try a different spool or cone of thread

Brother pe-770 upper thread breaks after the needle broke

try changing the needle again, sometimes even new needle can be damaged

My brother sewing machine keeps un-threading. I have checked the bobbin and took the thread all the way out and re-threaded it. What else can I do?

Make sure you are using the right needle for the application. Also check that your needle isn't damaged, bent or put in backwards. Sometimes a needle will have a burr on the eye, just sharp enough to break the thread. So always buy quality needles. Check your tension too.

MY BROTHER MACHINE NO. LS-2125i THREAD BREAKING WHEN SEWING?

Thread brekage can be caused by several things but start simple by taking off the needle plate then thoroughly clean the sewing mechanism and add a few drops of oil, then check the threading is correct. replace the needle. Always use quality threads and make sure that the thread is not to heavy for the size of the needle (it should pass easily through the needles eye). check that the needle hole in the plate is not bent or damaged and peppered with needle marks, a damaged plate will cause many problems. Finally, make sure that the tensions are not too tight this can be a major cause of thread breakage especially if poor quality thread is used. ( check thread by breaking it by hand, it should offer good resistance to breakage, if it breaks easily then discard it. hope this is useful, best of luck.

Thread is catching & breaking somewhere inside the machine before it gets to the needle. brother XL-5600 machine

According to page 18 of the manual, the only place the thread could be catching would be the tension discs or the uptake lever.

Lift the presser foot and run a heavier thread or flat, unwaxed dental floss through the threading procedure to see if this will clean out a thread that may have jammed into the discs.

Always thread with the presser foot up and make sure the uptake lever catches the thread.

If this continues, take the machine to an authorized Brother dealer for service.

THE DISNEY PICTURES EMBROIDERED SEEM OUT OF LINE WHY IS THIS & IT KEEPS BREAKING NEEDLES ITS A BROTHER PE-180D EMBROIDERY MACHINE CAN ANYONE HELP ME????

Use cut away stabilizer and if you are already doing this, double the layer.

The needles may be breaking because they are too small or not installed correctly.

Try a size 14 machine embroidery needle and check the manual to see if this is with the flat side of the needle to the back of the machine.

One other thing could be that the timing needs to be adjusted. You can find information on how to set the timing at sewusa.com or take the machine to a professional for service - always take an example when the machine has been mis-stitching.
