I have a craftsman snowblower that I replaced the auger bearing on assuming that was what was causing my pulley to wobble. The wobble is still there. Is this going to wear my belt or bearing out?

I am wondering if your pulley is bent. It will wobble if it is. Is it possible a piece of ice got jammed into it. Is the auger shaft bent? There has to be a reason it wobbles. It will eventually wear something out if not repaired.

Fan pulley wobbles

water pump BRG, must change pump before it starts leaking .
make sure its the fan pulley that is wobbling and not another idler or adjuster pulley.

Fan pulley wobble

If you can wobble the pulley by hand at any angle, it needs replacement. Check the other pulleys and the idler for wear as well.

My pulley between the bottom and alternator pulley is wobbling and needs to be fixed but don't know whats its called and my repair manual doesnt tell me

all data dot com show s it all.

tell is what pulley, you did not.
there is engine
p/s pump
water pump
A/c compressor
or in some cases and idler pulley that runs NUTTN
be specific and anwers get way better, or
post a photo with finger pointing.
to work on cars , you need to be able to ID each major part on the engine, or snap photos.
or go to alldata dot com and see it all,

I have a Husqvarna YTH20B42 and the snowblower keeps throwing the belt...what size belt do I need to order? I can't see it on the belt...Serial # 122906B002271

Its likly the belt is OK the problem is there is on idler pulley that has an adjustment so when the augers are engaged it puts force on the belt witch tightens and makes every think turn and when disengaged every stops turning. There is always an adjustment involved with this. If you can remove the belt then with the mechine not running of corse engage the drive and watch how it fucnitions then look for the adjustment that would move the idler closer or further away from the belt

A loose idler pulley threw the surpentine belt off - feels like bearings inside the pulley are shot.

will try to help. if the pulley has wobble,it's bad and in need of replacement. not a hard repair to preform. turn the bolt on the idler pulley thats bad counter clockwise, remove the bolt and pulley. replace with new pulley. you'll need to follow the belt routing on the hood of your car[a small decal that shows how to replace your serpentine belt] to replace the belt when you've replaced that pulley. if you do not have a diagram of your belt routing, make sure to ask where ever you purchase the idler pulley from. if not then post your question here and we'll be happy to help! i also suggest that while you're there replacing that pulley, you check all the other pulleys for wobble, just in case theres another problem you don't yet see. hope this helps and if you need further assistance please don't hesitate to post your question!thank you for choosing

Not sure how to replace the belt in my MTD, Wards snowblower

Remove the housing with the machine off

The idler pulley is designed to push up against the outside of the belt between the drive and motor pulleys when disegaged the belt should look like a loop like a race track

engage the blade clutch and watch to see if it presses up against the drive pully and the motor pulley

their should be a spring attached to the idler arm and i believe the new belt is dragging a little

you should be able to move the belt with your hands ( it should slip freely) rod is engaged or it pulls the idler away

Either a spring causes tension when the rod is engaged or it pulls the idler away

Keep working with it until it is free you may have an adjustment on the spring tension or the linkage rod has an adjustment

I am sure you can do this without an diagram good luck
