No power at all. No lights. just dead

Try plug it into a wall outlet that you know is good. If that's not the problem turn the power switch to on, then test the power cord plug for continuity, if none the power is not getting to the unit, could be the switch is bad, or wire broken/disconnected inside unit.

Rainbow vacuum cleaner won't turn on.

The 4 main problems we see is #1 The Plug needs replaced due to lack of continuity and #2, the 2 pole 2 throw on off switch has failed on the 120 V motor side of the switch.

One side of the switch is for the main motor and the other is for the power to the power head socket on the vacuum it self.

The 3rd is the motor brushes are seized due to a dirty motor or 4, the motor's armature is blown

Check the continuity of the 120 V cord first, then proceed onward.

I hope this helped!

No power to Bissell 3750-E

I'd test the new fuse with a meter. I'd then plug it in and retest for power and ground to and through the switch and motor. It could be as simple as a loose or pinched wire which grounded out.

not much. my only suggestion is to dig through the internet and try and find that pcb it may take awhile but it would be worth a shot. if you dont think you can make the repair take it to repair shop with new pcb and let them do it.

Beater bar motor quit, now the main motor quit. Replaced the on/off switch. still nothing

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If the vacuum cleaner motor doesn't run the on - off switch might be turned off or defective. Test the switch with an Ohm meter or continuity checker.
If the vacuum cleaner motor does not run the motor itself might be burned out. Check the power switch first to be sure the motor can get power. Then, be sure the motor shaft can turn freely, that nothing is obstructing it. If the motor can turn freely and is getting power but still won't run it will need to be replaced.

My henry vac switch is dead.

You will need to remove the top cover of the vaccum by removing the 4 screws underneath. The you need to test with a multimeter if you have 240 volt power to the bottom of the switch. If you haven,t power there you will need to check the plug connection or replace the power lead.

Dyson dc05 motor cuts out

Hi,

Check for either voltage to switch or if your not happy or compettant working on live mains.
Switch meter to ohms ensure vacuum is unpluged from mains follow live wire (brown) from plug to exit point on the back of cable rewinder check for continuity shold be dead short if it is check switch if this is ok move to neutral (blue) wire again check from plug to rear of cable winder.
The neutral then goes off to moter again check for dead short,
I think from experience that you will have A break in either live or neutral in the mains lead going to cable winder.
If it is its realy easy to replace winder they come with lead all ready fitted.
If you need one contact me.

It sounds to me like the power cord has a short. To test your power cord you need a multimeter. Test continuity threw the power cord, from the male plug prongs, to the wiring inside the vacuum. You should get continuity from one prong on the male plug to only one wire on the other end of the power cord. If you test one prong but get a readying on 2 wires, then it is crossed. If you dont get any continuity on one or more of the wires, you have a short. A common place for a short in the cord is the male plug, you can find a replacement male plug at a hardware store and cut off the old one. When wiring the male plug, black wire goes to the gold post, white wire goes to silver, and green wire goes to the green post.

If your carbon brushes on the motor are warn, then that could cause the motor to stop, but other parts of the vacuum should still work so I dont think it is that.

Hope this helps.

Windsor Sensor 12 Vacuum No Power

I'm an engineer for Hyatt hotels and I've worked with the S12 vacuums for a few years now. The most common problem electrically lies in the main switch and the power cord. Almost at no time in the past three years and working for 4 hotels have I had to replace any motor or board component for them. Take out the handle from the bag housing and use your volt meter/circuit tester to test the main switch, if that and your power cord are good, then you might have a bad fuse, which is located on the brush side of the main chip board.
