SOURCE: DSC-F717 "Memory Stick Error"

As 'debacle" already pointed out, the "no memory stick" error is likely caused by the ribbon cable connecting the memory stick bay. Instructions for how to fix this problem can be found on this web page. Following these instructrions, I had the problem on my F707 solved in less than 20 minutes.

SOURCE: Memory Stick error

Hello!

Following types of memory sticks are compatible with the Camera model DSC-V1:

Memory stick: 32/64/128 MB
Memory stick Pro: 256 MB/512 MB/1 GB/2 GB.
Mark 2 Memory stick Pro: 1/2 GB.

However, in order to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media with the Camera, a dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached.

Follow the steps given below to troubleshoot the Camera that is not recognizing any compatible memory sticks:

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C186797

Furthermore, you may try resetting the Camera to the original factory settings by pressing and holding the Reset button for 30 seconds.

If the issue persists even after performing all the above mentioned steps then the Camera is required to be diagnosed and serviced.

SOURCE: have a DSC-S930 camera inserted my memory stick

Hello Mate,
you may double check how you inserted the memory stick, it may be in wrong position.
other than that, you can insert this memory stick into your computer and see if you can open it from there. and you can also format it from your computer and then test it again with your camera.
Best Regards,

Hi Jaime, This model is no longer available from new. Used price is typically GBP110. It does not take an external memory card. Internal memory is 5.5Gb. It's been replaced by DSC300 which can be bought for GBP100. This model does accept an SD card.

How do I format the memory stick for my DSC-S85?

On page 96 of the manual:
https://docs.sony.com/release/DSCS75_S85.pdf you find this:

25440636-zcw4yonftbuvhj0ewy4qfuol-5-0.png So try it. Be aware the stick also can be damaged.
The re-inserting of the stick could clean some of the not clean contacts.
So make sure the card and the camera does have clean and shiny cards.

What memory card works with sony cybershot DSC-S85 camera

It takes <Memory Stick>, which is a Sony Proprietary format. Note that this is NOT the same as <Memory Stick Pro Duo>, or <Micro M2>, and although both of these could be used with an adaptor. The camera itself was originally supplied with a 16MB card.

Page 17 of the manual tells you how to load (that section also has a line drawing of one, if you need to see it).

(You may beed to paste it all into your search line to work - sometimes the links are broken on Fixya)

I can't get the memory stick-Sony Magic Gate 128 MB-to completely clear

As long as the camera is deleting some of the photos, the problem is likely with the memory card. Try another card in the camera and see if it clears properly, and also try inserting the card into your computer and deleting everything via the computer.

Problem accessing memory stick

I had the same problem. I bought a 2 gig memory pro-duo with the adapter and it gave me that error even though it fit just fine. I then tried a 512 memory stick and a 1 gig memory stick and neither one worked it gave me the C:13:01 error code. So I found out the hard way that the camera will not read it. The Sony DSC-S85 will not take memory above a 128. Try the Lexar 64MB memory stick. I just bought 4 and they work perfectly fine.
