Are you saying that when you put the bike into gear to pull away from standing, the engine cuts out? If so, then check your side stand switch. It is there to cut the engine out if you try to ride off with your stand down. Your stand may be up but the switch may be telling the engine it is down.
You have defective camshaft drive timing belt (also runs the distributor). Pull the front cover off the engine and take a look. This is a free running engine and the broken belt will cause no damage to the engine valves in this make, it is a different story in other models like the Maxima.
You should first put a layer of primer using wood primerfrom a spray can. This will prevent thepaint from being absorbed into the wood. After 24 hours, you should use acrylic black (or whichever color youwant) paint in a spray can. The reason Irecommend spray paint is because it's easy and gives you tan even, blemish freecolor. Wait 24 hours (so that bubbleswon't form) and do another layer. If itdoesn't look thick enough to you, wait another 24 hours and do a final layer. There is no need for a clear finish.
You have one of two things going on. (1) You need to check the kick stand switch, your bike thinks the kick stand is still down. It may have been loosened out of adjustment by vibration. If the kick stand switch is out of whack, it will restart as long as the clutch in pulled in. But as soon as you try to let out the clutch it will kill the engine, if it is in gear. (2) Next problem could be, you need to loosen up the clutch cable a little bit, The clutch control on the handle bar has a screw type of adjuster (clutch cable passes through it ), try loosening it till it's easy for you to move the bike without the engine shutting off. Hope it helps and comment if you need more clarification.
