Question about Vehicle Parts & Accessories
My remote doesnt work at all occasionally it will light up when i put a battery in the remote but it doesnt do anything at all should i buy a new one or is there a way i can fix this can i even buy a new remote or to i have to buy a whole new system when i bought my car it came with it but no manual for the starter
Here is something you can try to see if it is transmitting out from the handset
Put your new battery in and push and hold down the button and look at the transmitter LED through a digital camera, a phone camera works fine. you don't need to take a picture, just look at the LED trough the camera.
If its transmitting you will see the LED light up.
Test this on your TV remote as you know this one is working so you know what to look out for.
If its not transmitting you know its the handset at fault, if it is transmitting its probably the recever.
Hope this helps a bit.

you have to go in to the proramming mode of the remote to change this feature. you can access this by holding all 4 buttons on the remote at the same time. (or if you have the P button on the back you can hold it down by itself) you will hear 2 long beeps confirming the programming mode. at this time, you can change the settings by pressing 1 of the 4 buttons., each button will change a different function.
in no order------
1. Beep/vibrate or both
2. page or not to page
4. hood, truck, or both
the remote will give 2 long beeps when it exits the programming
