Needle does not pick up the bobben

Be sure you are using a brand new needle. A bent, damaged needle sometimes will not pick up the bobbin thread. Other than that, your machine's timing is probably off. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Empisal dressmaker 270D - top thread wont catch bobbin thread

Thanks for the advise, but I've opened the magine and it looks like at the back of the bobben, the part that controls the bobben has missed or skipped a louver so that's why my magine does not grab the cotton. The bobben case is not rotating the way it suppose to.

The bobben is put in right and threaded right but the sewing isnt going into the cloth

try a new needle
try cleaning under the needle plate and in the feed dog area
it's also possible that the sewing machine needs to be checked for a timing issue.

The bobben is not catching when i lower the needle down

Check to see that you have the right size needle in the machine. Rethread the machine, both top and bottom. If that doesn't help you may have a timing issue.

I have an old Singer sewing machine. Probably dates around the 1950's. The machine is in a cabinet and you have to tilt it to put it away. The bobben is underneath and you have to tilt the machine to...

I tried looking up your machine by google, and what I think is yours is a Singer 319w. If, I am right, you can get a manual for it at and download one for $10. They show a picture of it, and if it matches you will be in luck. If, that is not your machine, call Singer at 1-800-4singer and you can get a manual for it from them, usually $15. plus s/h. You can get parts for it at also. Good luck & have fun

How do you thread the bottom bobbin?

Depends, it is a top load bobbon or does the bobbon go below the needle shaft. ???
Just remember that when you place the bobbon into the shuttle the tread always has to pull clockwise. So if you are holding the bobbon facing you the thread comes from the top to the right.
Lay the bobben into the shuttle making sure you pull the threads in a clock wise motion until you pull it under a metal point that looks like a flattened needle. This is also your bobben tension and then take your hand and turn the clutch wheel slowly. You will see the thread loop around the bobben thread and pull it up.

Thread and bobben pattern for juki ddl 5550 machine keeps cutting bobben thread

Your bobbin case may be too tight. Try loosing it by turning the small screw a little turn to the left. If thats not it, you could also have a bend or snag in the bobbin case that is snapping the thread. If this is the case you will need to replace it.
