I will assume the line goes from top to bottom and is straight.
If so bad news I am affraid. It is the driver tabs that go from the panel to the physical panel controller board and is not making correct contact.
This will normally continue to get worse until you lose entire bands of the screen.

Sorry for the nad news.

Just to clarify the solution posted by mnk1001: The button to press to change the input is the Enter button.

Glad there was such a simple solution to this mysterious problem! Too bad the monitor doesn't auto-detect the input.

Hello,

This is a very common symptom of a failure of the filter capacitors in the power supply board. The monitor is repairable, you just need to replace the 7 capacitors on the power supply board. Here is information on the board and the capacitors needed to repair it.

Have you been to YOUTUBE for "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" video clips??? Absolutly do not use sharp cutting instruments to part the rear cover from front BEZEL of unit. One careless slip and it's a trip to local hospital "ER" to stop the gushing wound you have inflected on your body. Good luck with repair to your unit. 12fixlouie

How do you get rid of a stuck green pixel on a benq e2200hd? ive already tried software fixes

Missing pixels are common on any LCD type of TV. The only way to get rid of it is to replace the panel itself. Do you have any kind of warranty?

Stem on lcd monitor can't be removed

Usually the stem has a plastic cover that hides the securing screws from view. You must pry up the cover to reveal the screws securing the stem to the monitor. This is most easily done with a Plastic pry bar or plastic putty knife. Hope this helps you with your problem.

How do Iopen the case of an HPvs17x monitor?

The Capacitors on the power board are usually the reason for failure of an LCD. If you open the HP VS17 ( I can provide an exhaustive step by step If I have to) remove the five screws for the power board ( larger of the two boards) and look for an area where there are 4 caps (see pic). Look for exploded, popped up, bulging, or leaking caps and replace with the same or slightly higher tolerances. The one I replaced last night were (2x )1000uf25-50volt and (2x) 470uf25-50volt. Check the rest of the board for similar issues and replace as needed.

How to open casing

Just managed to open a FP17G+ monitor. My hope is that FP17G is similar and that this comes in handy.

There are 5 screws holding the casing together. Four are in the corners (black screws on my monitor). The 5th is right under the monitor stand (silver screw on my monitor.

To open the monitor, I had to:

1) Remove the monitor stand. To do so, you need to take out the two screws at the point where the base connects to the monitor (right above the pivot point) and slide out the monitor stand. THis should give you enough space to take out the 5th screw.

2) Unscrew the five remaining screws on the back of the monitor.

3) At the bottom edge of the monitor, there are two gaps between the front and back plastic panels of the monitor. You can place a wide screwdriver in this gap and gently pry apart the front and back of the monitor. Continue around the edge and the monitor will be open.

Best of luck... If you figure out what is wrong inside, let us know (I am trying to fix the same problem).

Power button doesn't work...

Your problem is not the switch. Probably you have faulty capacitors, deteriorated solder joints or worn out bulbs.
To open the case, remove the base (push button and lift off).
remove any screws under the base plate.
Pry the front and back cover apart, they snap together.
Good luck,
Monitor Mike
