Or if all you get is a green light when its plugged into an external charger, then you could have blown one of two Microchips on the charging circuit and to get it working again they will have to be replaced. If it has just become corrupt you can try resetting the tomtom To reset your TomTom device, do the following:
Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
Remove the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, remove it.
Reset your device.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset
button for at least 15 to 20 seconds. See the pictures below for where
to find the reset button.
Turn your device on.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.
Insert the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

Connect the Reader to the Computer using the supplied USB cable and check whether it is charging,. If it's charging , then keep it connected from at least 4 hour to get it fully charged. If its fully charged, perform a soft reset. To soft reset, just press the RESET button. After soft6 resetting charge it for at least 4 hours., That should resolve the issue. All the best! !
