You could try system restore but I haven't had much luck with that. Usually when I get a problem I just reload the operating system and all the software but the Windows disc should offer you the chance to repair the existing system. I have never attempted that but a friend has used it successfully.
check the usb.(small rectangle hole) with another keyboard. check if the keyboard lock is off. if so turn on. check if the keyboard requires any additional software.

Is F9 the correct key? It could be any one of the F1 thru F12 keys. You have to turn the computer off, then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F? key repeatedly to get into the Recovery.
Recovery might be in your program list. Click Start/Programs and look for any reference to Recover. It might also be in one of the ASUS folders in the program list.
Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ASUSSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for Manuals and Documents. Search the manual for Factory Reset or Recovery and follow the instructions.

1)Make sure the jumper that resets the board, is on the right position based on manual. 2)Reset memory stick(s) If this does not work, try using USB keyboard and mouse.
sometimes, driver CDs get damaged. But don worry, all you need to do is 1st try to clean the CD with a clean cloth wet wit tap water and clean it again with a dry cloth. If still your PC can't read from the CD, try downloading the drivers directly from the Manufacturer's website.
